OK, so have done some Googling but would love to hear thoughts here too.

I am presently using an XFX RX 6600 XT Merc on a Gigabyte B550M DS3H. Mobo BIOS setup is completely stock (will explain).

A while back I got the known 'driver hang' issue with my 6600 XT, basically Win10 crashes when the PC goes to sleep, that was irritating but occurred using either of my 6600 XTs in the PC. Now a few Win10 Pro updates and drivers later that problem is gone... but... now I get the GPU drivers corrupting when the PC goes to sleep. I used DDU to clean (although not in safe mode, will try that way too) and reinstalled. Things seemed OK but this morning it happened again.

Now it would be irritating on its own but the 6600 XT and the two Dell monitors I have don't play lekker together. Can't view the POST on either monitor with either 6600 XT because the monitors bitch about the input settings and with the driver corruption I now can't see windows either. I have another old monitor I have to then use to be able to see the startup and sort the drivers but its getting frustrating having to do this process repeatedly.

One suggestion was to disable Win Update to prevent any kind of Win10 driver overwrite on startup but I'm not sure why this is suddenly a problem> Anyone else had this?

Anyway I'll pull the old damn monitor out and redo the process AGAIN now and update EVERYTHING but just wondering if anyone else has had this? Seems something that happens on AMD cards and I saw many moans about no fix for the crashing on sleep mode issue.

PS. Plays games, etc just fine, zero issues there or in general use all day.

Slight derail. But today I also got some driver hang issues on my win11 system with AMD GPU.
Looks like Windows tossed us a k@k AMD driver update today.

Yeah I've tried again with DDU (in Safe Mode) and reinstalled the drivers only.

One of the issues (crashing when the system goes to sleep) seemed to relate to a power saving system that you can only manually disable via an edit. If this doesn't work I'll take another step back on the driver list. I use the PC a lot for multimedia so will forego a new driver for an old if I can just regain some driver stability!
