Hey y'all!

We have had a great first 6 months on Carbonite and we have renewed for another year! We would like to thank everybody who has made use of our services and made this trial a success. We have gone from ZERO to 34 (THIRTY FOUR) ratings in a relatively short span of time and we want to do even better. There is unfortunately some bad news as well. The year is 2024 and the cost of living has risen to the point where even your side hustles need side hustles and as a result we have to increase our costs as well.

After thinking long and hard we have decided to increase our prices to a rate of R10 per hour. This price includes the filament/plastic (all the basics: PLA, PETG, ABS, SBS). THERE IS NO SETUP FEES OR OTHER HIDDEN COSTS.
This rate is (still) about half if not less than what most others charge. Some charge up to R50 per hour but obviously they print with filament made from Mammoth Ivory.

Please compare our prices to some of the other printing services. We are confident that our prices are VERY competitive and that our quality is also right up there with the best.

If you have made use of our services and you are happy, please feel free to comment on this thread and show people what we made for you.
If we have wronged you or disappointed you in any way, please also comment here and we will do our utmost to turn that frown upside down.

We will periodically post pics here of stuff we have made.

(Ok, how do you embed an imgur video so that you can play it?)

A sea turtle, it may or may not be Crush from Finding Nemo

Spent some time this weekend finishing off old spools and printing some arthritis assistance tools for the old age home (they don't get charged).

Here we've got bottle openers (coke, water, whiskey, etc.), pill poppers and pen balls.

And over here we have a bona fide, real, recently excavated t-rex skellington. You can tell it is real from all the plastic.

Hi, I have a client that needs an old 1980s Audi Taillight housing 3D printed. Would you be able to do something like that? We have pictures and CAD files of it if required. Thanks, Kind Regards

Hi Charl!

This is something that can be done in one of 2 ways:
  1. Printed with a large format resin printer in some kind of UV resistant clear resin
  2. Make a mold (either from an original or from a 3d print which has been post-processed to be as smooth as possible) and then cast with a durable clear resin
Unfortunately this isn't something that we specialize in or have even attempted because we don't have the hardware required or the silicon/resin setup.

I will however ask around if somebody has the requirements to get this done.

EDIT:
Just so happened to watch a vid about this a while ago. Here it is in case anybody was wondering how to do this and attempt it themselves.

3d printing this wont work well.

Needs to be mold/cast.

We printed a sunroof panel for a client and it came out REALLY nicely.

This is the visible side. Such a nice texture.

This was one of the toughest kit planes I've ever had to build. If you like that kind of thing, you should check out the card kits for Star Wars stuff. I'm going to do those next.

This one was printed in draft mode (pressed for time), but normally it should take about 18 hours.
My son (9) is a big fan of Fallout and Doom so I might have to look at a few online models.

@TheJudge Had to REALLY go dig for this. It was printed about 2.5 years ago...

Here is a pic of some of the parts

Here is a pic after the guy I printed it for assembled it and applied some primer.

Please do PM with approx price on that. 😁

It has been a busy few weeks with fulfilling orders. We thank you from the bottom of our red liquid pumps for all the support.

Some more goodies that we made for my daughters' creche. The twist open and you put stuff inside, like marshmallow eggs. I printed 25 of them in total.
