Hi all,

I am in a major predicament and I am starting to go crazy...I have now not had internet since 1 April. (World's most shit fools joke, I know...).

I am with Afrihost/VUMA. The reason why is entirely my fault, and I admitted as such in my emails to Afrihost on the first day. I had changed cards about a month or two before hand due to a card cancellation, and I had uploaded my details onto Afrihost, but did not "link" the card to the service and it lapsed. I was awake at the time, and made the payment within like 3 hours of me realising it had lapsed. I immediately sent an email stating the issue, stating that I had figured out the linking issue, and had entirely removed my older card details.

They initially had no problem and stated my line was fine. Well, I have sat with no internet for 3 weeks now...and I am expecting another weekend of no net. From what I am being told, it is a VUMA issue as they keep doing something to a line and it fails. I was told at the end of week 1 by a technician that came over that my line needed to be reprovisioned because there was a network error and now I just get error after error after error from them.

My issue...do I go with another ISP now, and let them deal with getting VUMA to sort out the line (was looking at UrbanX maybe, a mate told me about them), or do I sit and wait it out? My MTN line is sooooo slow... I am also moving in about 21 days time...sooooo, is it even worth it?

I understand I am unreasonably irrational right now...I am just incredibly salty about the situation....

Edits: My salt was damaging my Englerish...

1. Eish :(
2. Don't bother with new ISP.
3. Get rolling on FTTH/LTE for your new place, so its live as close to you moving in. A friend recently moved and Mweb took 3weeks to deliver the router for the new install.... Octotel do the infrastructure AFAIR.
3.1 I personally skip the small ISP's. Where Vox and Frogfoot are available, thats my goto for FTTH & FTTB. They are not error free, but their support & notifications are solid.
4, Good luck!
