Wassup Carbies,
I hope the CUD goes well.

So with my whole YouTube thingy being about racing games; after entering 2023 I got the opportunity to set myself up with some sim racing equipment and I will soon have a good starter rig and I have been putting in practice in Asetto Corsa with my new wheel.
What I am hoping for is that once my rig is completely assembled, I want to enter some beginner championships or leagues to test myself against others.

Does anybody know where I could go for this? I will find out the requirements and stuff on my own, I just need a direction to take for people who are green like me.

I did do my own homework so far and found places like Sim GP and World Sim Series but I would just like to get some insight from someone who has done this or has been doing this already.

Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.

May the CUD be with you.
Shini, the Racing Reaper ;)

DUDE...
Hope you have alot of patience, haha Sim racing can get very Frustrating but is so much fun...
Have a look at SimRace South Africa (Just google them)(or Check out youtube channel)- they have leuges that are split into Divisions depending on your times so that should help if you are just starting out... and stream the Div 1 Races...

Also there is Sim Race Africa,(Search for them on Facebook) They are a lot more beginner friendly with a bit more of a aim on having Fun than being a Fancy Racing Leuge...
The ouks are also very helpfull..

Hope this helps...

The best place to go is prolly ACC .....that's the most popular sim atm and there are a number of easy leagues to start in Monday Night (Join the Monday Night Racing Discord Server!) is really good and LowFuelRacing.com has daily races that are always busy and you start as a rookie.
AC in my opinion is quite old
Keep your eye on steam ACC also has very impressive specials

Haaai NEEEE man...
ACC is everything except beginner friendly, also, Who wants to only race GT3s when you can race Trucks, Sprint Cars, BTCC, Indy Cars or for that matter, anything you want, on any track you want.??????
You are not incorrect about ACC being Popular, but its like having pizza every night...

Gets old real quick.. hahaha
Also the Lueges I suggested have ACC Races Once a month, the other weeks they have other Racing types, so you can pick and choose what you want to Race...
One Race a week, with a different Class Every week, No that sounds way more fun, Doesnt it? hahahahaha

My 2c is just to do a few online track day lobbies to get the hang of how the whole online system works before you join league races. Other than that you'll have a blast of a time, so enjoy it dude!

Agreed, Only thing is the Ping on Public Servers are so bad 160+ with fibre and 200+ with LTE, With the local Leagues you atleast have a decent ping 20- with fibre 120- with LTE and the Rammers are not present...
Leagues are just if you really want to test your skills against some of the faster guys in the country...
also with testing etc in the Leagues the guys are very helpful regarding setups etc so you will learn real quick about cars and what works best to make the cars a bit more stable and suited to your racing style...
there is alot of time to gain and enjoyment of driving with a car not using the stock setup...

ACC and F1 2022 are on sale on steam...
ACC Base game is -70% - R188.70 - Also all the DLC packs are marked down...
F1 2022 is -84% - R159.99...
F1 Manager - -70% - R170.70...

Hey Baardman, thanks for this man. I am not a patient person but I can hold my cool lol... the red mist takes a while to set in lest I go looking for trouble. I will definitely be checking these out. Have you ever tried Sim Racing on some sort of a professional or even amateur level? Just asking to find out your experience with it.

lol funy you say this man, ACC is actually on special this weekend. I was actually asking someone else about whether or not I am wasting my time in AC vs ACC. Can I ask you if there are major differences in terms of physics and other factors related to how the cars drive between AC and ACC?

This does make sense. I think just so I can have more options with what events can be entered, I might as well just have both games lol.

Thanks man, can you recommend any servers that I should go into (the online menu in AC - CM is nice and all but I don't know for sure whether I should enter a server or not, how do you see the rules and stuff like which assists are allowed and are you allowed to have your own setup and stuff).

Yeah I am ok with tailoring the setup to my style already. The point of ping is really helpful though, I doubt these servers have measures in place to prevent issues arising from having a bad ping...

lol if only I didn't spend all my money on the setup and stuff... I do want ACC but I will just have to wait for now

Thank you to everyone that has responded so far. I cannot explain how amped I am to really get going. My rig arrives today. Had one custom made by a family member and found a luck of a 2018 Kia Rio Leather seat for 650 bucks... if only the shifter and handbrake would arrive a.s.a.p. to complete the setup

Hi Yaseen..
I started Racing around Lockdown, Joined SimraceSA and was in DIv 1 for most of the Seasons..
Raced WTCR, RSS F3, ACC GT3s and so on...
The guys are really helpful and if you are looking for a good time with good competitive racing I would strongly suggest SimraceSA..
As they do streaming as well with Commentary and all the fancy stuff...
Also Joined SimRace Africa, They normally have the not so easy classes, Ausie V8s, Sprint Cars, Hot Rods, Truck Racing those types...
but they don't have a Stream of the races so is more of a behind closed doors league, Some of the Guys do stream their own perspective...

You will find alot of love from the Guys at SimRaceSA, they are serious about setups and racing..
SimRace Africa is more like racing with your buds on a friday night, But always alot of fun...

Thanks Baardman, I will definitely give that a go. Maybe I will be able to find a beginners league over there and drive like the mx-5 or some kind of beginner car lol. At the moment, I am still practicing. Just about finished the 599XX Evo Advanced Championship. Since Saturday; I came up with a rule for myself, no more restarting the session and I just have to buckle down and drive better and it's actually been working. My wife went out and when she returned home, she found my dripping in sweat but hey... I was having a ball zipping that Ferrari around Monza lol.
I do like the idea of trying the Aussia V8s and the Sprint Cars... Hot Rods and Trucks... maybe not so much lol. I am trying to join SimraceSA, I went into the SimGP discord and did the usual starting bits selecting my role and stuff, I think I need to complete the process by registering on their website. Does this sound familiar to you?
