I've owned this set from new, but unfortunately, about 3-4 years ago something went wrong and the control pod stopped working. I didn't really bother at the time and just put them in the garage. During COVID I took them back out again and did a bit of Googling and found that it was a common issue, but fixable. Unfortunately, it was also COVID so the replacement voltage regulators only arrived in 2021 and I had moved on from trying to fix it. In theory, this should be a simple fix if you want to have a go at it, the replacement parts (both types) are included. I do not know if this is the only issue with the speakers, and whether anything else also has been damaged.
Ideally, you'll be an existing owner of a broken Z-5500 set and you would be able to transplant parts in between to get one working again. Included are the original front and rear speaker cables, but the mid-speaker cable is AWOL. I also include the original 6CH Direct Cable and a Digital RCA to 3.5mm Cable.
I offer no warranty or guarantee of any kind if you buy this. I don't know if it's fixable and I'm selling it as parts only. I should have the remote somewhere in this mess of a house and if I find it I will make a plan to get it to the buyer. The battery cover broke off a long time ago.
I am also not shipping this, I'd prefer you to collect in Pretoria, but I'd be happy to meet halfway if you're from Joburg.
I'm not splitting either, it's all or nothing.
