I haven't seen psyllium husks mentioned in the thread yet... Read up on it a bit when you are bored
It's essentially just fiber, but it makes you feel fuller and dampens the appetite a bit, thus helps to prevent snacking and over eating. If you are sensitive to food texture, it might not be for you though. It's mostly tasteless, but feels like you are swallowing cardboard shavings.
