Hi guys.

Anyone ever attempt to import one of those Korean monitors like crossover to SA? And what are the customs like when it gets here? There 1440p 144hz screens are ridiculously cheap.

Yup a few people did many moons ago.

There was a whole thread dedicated to importing the Qnix brand in particular.

I benefitted from at least 4 x of these units off people whom imported.

I had my eyes on one of those microboard 34" screens but sadly eBay removed them from sale.

But back on topic I think import costs generally were anything from around R700 _ R1500 ( I stand under correction ) that was based on a 27" 2560 x 1440 overclock able Qnix monitor which cost around R4200 on eBay.

Cheers

Thats not too bad actually but it kind of almost cost the same price as a 1440p 144hz screen here.

Any monitor bigger then 18.5'' attracts a 35% import duty.
just FYI
