Having to write up this post makes me very sad... This machine has been an absolute dream to use and the envy of all my friends for a while now. I had tons of fun picking out components and building it up, but the time has now come for me to make some serious lifestyle changes in preparation for leaving SA in a little over a year's time.

For the sake of simplicity, I would prefer to sell this rig without having to split up the parts, hence the bundle discounts.. That said, everything must go, so bundles and multi-item requests will take preference. And please, don't ask for 2 of the 4 RAM modules... That's just being silly.

Regarding the prices I've assigned to each item; @CalMul helped me source many of the parts and gave me a massive discount on pretty much all of them... While some parts were purchased at different points in time, the first run of this machine was only in January 2015: so I've taken my original purchase price, less 5% for 2014 (where they sat in boxes for most of the year), less 10% for each year of use thereafter, applied as compound depreciation, rounded down to the nearest R50.

Edit: After some more searching online for the same items, I've just adjusted pretty much all the prices.

All prices are negotiable, with the best offer still standing after one week winning the race. Items with no offers will have an appropriate price drop on the first of every month. Basic info of current offers can be seen in this Google Sheet.

Common Item Details
  • Warranty: No
  • Condition: Secondhand, one owner
  • Age: 4 to 5 years
  • Location: Merrivale, KZN (north of PMB)
  • Reason: Collecting funds for a Dell XPS 15
  • Packaging: Original, more details in individual items list
  • Shipping: Not recommended, but can be arranged if need be
  • Collection: Preferred, I am willing to travel up to an hours' drive from PMB to meet buyer
Individual Item Details
  • Item: Asus Rampage IV Black Edition X79
  • Price: R4000 (purchased Apr 2014 for R7,404.30)
  • Packaging: Box damaged by the f***ers that broke into my house and couldn't work out how the box opened... Or that it was empty anyway. See attached photo.
  • Link: RAMPAGE IV BLACK EDITION | Motherboards | ASUS USA

Random fun fact: when I first built this machine, including 3x LG 27" LED, a Logitech K95 and Logitech G700, it cost nearly R80k.... :/ Damn you deprecation, I hate you so much.

Also, this sale is tower-only because back in December my house got burglarized (again) and my monitors are now gone... I'm keeping my Roccat Tyon, Vengeance 1500 headset and G27 wheel for some light gaming on the laptop I'll be replacing this with, while my current Moshi Luna has already been ear-marked for a good friend of mine.

Special Bundle Prices
  • Full Tower: R25,000
  • MB/RAM/CPU/cooler bundle: R10,000
  • SSD bundle: R1,800
  • GPU bundle: R8,000

Sale includes a Windows 10 Pro license, installed as 8.1 and upgraded during the first year of free upgrades from MS. If parts are split, I'll add this to the MB/RAM/CPU bundle (because of how MS licensing works).

I'll do my best to respond to PMs as quickly as possible.. If I don't reply to one immediately, I will do so by the evening of the same day at the latest.

FYI

So.. After much consideration and more searching online, I've realised the prices I was after were a little on the ridiculous side. They've now been adjusted, but are all still very much negotiable.

I've got a few things in the works at the moment, so it looks like I might possibly be able to get my laptop in about two months' time.. I can't split up the parts from my current rig just yet (it's the only machine I have left), so until then I'll keep track of the people who ask about specific parts, but I'll only settle for bundle sales right now.

Once I have another machine to use for my development work, then I can split it up and sell the parts individually.

Since this ad has had virtually no interest, I've decided it's not actually worth my while to sell this machine after all..
