Anybody invested in the EC10 on the Easy Equities app?
It looks like your money gets split into the 10 biggest cryptos and that way if bitcoin or ethereum go balls up you don't lose all your money.

The only issue I see is that the return on investment is extremely slow. Like pension fund slow.

I wouldn't say it's slow, nor fast, as its crypto so it's volatile. Just don't forget about the insane tax SARS puts on crypto.

So with the Easy Equities app you get a test wallet to put fake money down and see how they fare against the real market trends. I put R100 000 down into the EC10 and after a little over 2 years I am R45 into the profit...

Do you think you should be playing crypto harder, like buying and selling daily? Or is it just a long-term investment

I had the great displeasure of investing in EC10 a while back.

Bitcoin dipped (like fell off a cliff dip) days after investing and I pretty much lost my entire investment. Thankfully it wasn't much at all.

2 Years ago was basically the peak of crypto, so you were probably like -afuckload a while ago, and its just coming back up now. Buying and selling crypto is South Africa is super hard with the 45% tax on profit, fuck you SARS, but its good if you know what you doing

I was 60% down on EC10 when I sold. Also only a small amount fortunately. If you want crypto then buy the actual crypto.

SARS can kiss my ass, and I'll resist to urge to wipe when they kiss it.

I'd say if you invest in EC10, you are investing for 10+ years. Unless crypto explodes tomorrow, you won't make a lot. Same thing with EFT's or an RA, its for the long run

Yea, okay I'm glad its not only me. Seen some previous replies which confirm what I suspected. Its not as great of an investment as it is marketed. Your profit will be levelled out due to the splitting, your loss will still be experienced during dips. Rather go to the casino and put R100 000 on black

They're all heavily correlated though, and BTC and ETH accounts for almost 70% of crypto's entire market cap, so if they go to shit everything else is probably going to follow.

If you mean day trading. then hell no. Statistically the percentage of day trader who consistently beat the market is like single digits.

Since 2010 when the first BTC block was mined it exploded after each halving, next one is April 2024. Whether or not it's going to hold true this time, who knows. Crypto also hasn't been in a proper recession though as it started some time after the last one (2008).
