Review Cudy Mesh Review M3000

Hey guys,

So recently I purchased this little guy Cudy Dual Band WiFi 6 3000Mbps Gigabit Mesh Router | M3000_W (1-Pack)

[ It's a newer model that released near the end of Jan ]

And I'll just drop a quick little review because there wasn't much info out there when I was trying to read up about it.

INITIAL THOUGHTS:

So where I sleep is a little far from my router in the lounge, and my wifi signal was never the greatest - That's where this little guy comes in.

The packaging it came in was really nice, felt like a good quality product, everything was wrapped up nicely. Upon taking it out the box the router was extremely light, too light.
You can see through the air vents at the bottom and there isn't much going on inside the router lol.

Build quality i'd give it around a 7/10. Could be heavier.

PERFORMANCE:

The wifi coverage has been a huge upgrade from my Comtel supplied TP-Link , that thing was a piece of junk. All my household wifi gadgets connected easily, and my internet just feels a lot faster in general.
I now get full speed in my room , Youtube videos play much faster and my little google home doesn't have a noticeable lag anymore when the lady is talking to me.

I'm only on a 50/50 mbps fibre package but it's nice to have the full speed wherever I am, even outside in the yard.

INTERFACE:

Super easy to use - Everything is very easy to setup up and while being very simple it has quite a lot of features I haven't seen on other routers.
The router uses Cloudfare's DNS by default, and Googles as a backup.

Performance I'd give it a solid 10/10 [ FOR MY NEEDS ]


DO I RECOMMEND?

I would say yes, but maybe go for the cheaper one if you don't want to spend too much. I don't feel like there would be a huge difference.

If you can, I'd remove the Google DNS and use 9.9.9.9 or OpenDNS (Cisco owned).

Google ain't the most trusty Keep Cloudflare (1.1.1.2 provides some malware protection which 1.1.1.1 doesnt ; 1.1.1.3 will block some p0rn etc).

I have been seeing these Cudy a bit. I noted the price difference to Unifi is rather big. Thanks for this. I was worried about the UI but seeing as you said its great. Might give it a go

fair review i say, find these similar to Reyee stuff but I do prefer the look and design of these

I have the WiFi 6 Cudy 1800 and the units are great. Better than the Unifi ACAP. Price is super affordable. Could be heavier as I tend to knock them over rather easily. Def recommend

I did an install recently with the Cudy brand for a client on a budget. I was surprised how well it worked.

I installed the following devices:
1 x Cudy CD-WR1300 router
2 x Cudy CD-AP1300P access points
1 x Cudy 6 port POE switch

Wired the Ap's to a poe switch and directly into the router.

Router automatically picked up the AP's and configured them accordingly with SSID etc. Walked around the house(was a big house with lots of corners and walls), and the mesh system worked seamlessly.

for the price point of R2500 for a router, 2 x Ap's and POE switch, that is super cheap.

The AP's were slightly larger than expected, but they weren't ugly units. The network port design can be changed slightly for a better install look with the cable, but that is almost the only thing I could fault it on...

Hope this adds to the review, as the original poster said, there was no real reviews or much info on the brand at the time, so I had to explain to my client that I was using a brand I was unfamiliar with, but it was at a good price point, and he was willing to take the chance.

Honestly it's been working really nicely. Great coverage , Wifi 6 too, etc..

It replaced my router, which is nice. So maybe look into getting a 2 pack mesh system for like R1200+- , throw in THIS and you're good to go! . [ x2 M1300s, Just double check is can be used as such ]

It's honestly been a set and forget type of device.

Will have a look into this as I am sitting should I rather just get a access point or a mesh setup! Sorry for the derail noticed Cudy is popping up at times that they are better than branded makes.
