Bikers!?

The first thing i did when I got a bike was get a race suit to look like a power ranger

Pics or it didn't happen. With scuffed knee sliders, otherwise you just a poser wannabee! 😁😂🤣 Scuffed elbow sliders = bonus points!

Your first mistake was watching his garbage.
Him and "Yammienoob" or whatever that twat face's name is.(Not saying you watch yammiecunt but both their stuff is garbage)

Yup. Sensationalist garbage made for brain dead cuntsumption (no, that's not a spelling error. It accurately describes those who follow these stupid channels). Like 99% of the shit on YT.
Got to churn out content to stay relevant. Even when they have nothing relevant to say. fortnine, revzilla, yammienoob et al ad nauseam. All self-proclaimed "experts". There's even some local twerp based in the east of Jozi who was mildly interesting - until he gave a "lesson" in how to lube your chain - with the bike on centre stand, motor running, in gear & spraying lube onto the outside facing side of the chain!
SMH.
I was expecting the next vid to be "How to clean excess chain lube from your bike's plastics, seat, rear rim, rear tyre, numberplate and your apparel", but alas it never happened! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
I eagerly (not) await his video explaining o-rings and keeping sprockets lubed. Not going to hold my breath!

You should teach @ovisser1 how to install shit onto bikes. Takes him months if not years until he decides he's too lazy and gives up.

Quick question, have you done the valve service on your bike yet? If so how bad was it? xD
LOL... You are referring to the Desmo service? And yes, I did it not long ago. I think I did it during Feb? I didnt go via Ducati Centurion. But it did set me back R8k.

Nah, Fortnine makes great content. I don't agree with this video, but his videos are usually top-shelf.

rofl, makes me think @ovisser1 and his brother.

I think I watch Revzilla's "rides" when some dude rides a bike and gives their thoughts on it. I ignore the guy because I don't care that a 800 commuter doesn't have that "Nippyness" in it's throttle or whatever garbage they go on about, I just want to see what the bike looks like and how it sounds.
If I want to know the problems or characteristics of a bike then I check their respective forums of people who actually own them and are living with them.

Why so butthurt though?

He makes really good videos usually, interesting stuff that isn't covered that well, and it's usually beautifully shot. You strike me as a MotoBob fan.

Lol I'm a big poser @Trompie67 , my racesuit looks BRAND SPANKING NEW , that's mostly due to me going from medium, skipping large going all the way to XL 😭 ( beers is my downfall)

My skill set is FAR from dragging knee or elbow but my plan is to get proper track days in the future

Slight change of topic here...

Is anyone aware of the replacement driveshafts by BMW every 60000kms on the 1200/1250GS's and every 80000km on the 1300GS ?
Youtube link for more info
UKGser link for info
BMW Sport Touring Link

Snip from BMW sport touring link as above,
"BMW Motorrad has decided to adjust the maintenance schedule for the above-mentioned models in the interest of customer satisfaction over the life of the vehicle. The following content has been newly added:

- Replace the cardan shaft every 60,000 km (mileage of the cardan shaft, not the vehicle). This exchange takes place over the entire lifespan of the vehicle at BMW Motorrad’s expense.

- Maintenance recommendation: check the cardan shaft every 20,000 km (tester-guided test method) and re-grease the splines. This recommendation is not a mandatory content of the maintenance plan and is only carried out at the customer's request and expense.

The changed maintenance plan has been valid since the beginning of October 2023, and for vehicles with model year 2024 even since the start of production in August 2023.

Which vehicles are affected by the change?
The changed maintenance plan applies to all R 1200 / 1250 models (K5x) since the start of production (also retroactively)."

I hope you realise I was taking the mickey?

Track days (with a reputable school) are great fun & a good learning experience. Sadly these days (for us in Jozi) Kyalami has become expensive & therefore only 2 or 3 track day slots available each year, leaving only Red Star or Zwartkops. We used to do a double-header (Saturday & Sunday) at Phakisa which was worth the drive down, but alas, no more, as the circuit no longer passes MSA inspection.
For you in KZN there used to be track days at Dezzi Raceway, no idea if those still happen. When they did they were hosted by Dave & Arno from Track-Daze, great chaps & a good school - they helped bring out CSS some years ago which is probably the best track school you can ever attend.

you are not wrong!
I am do done with RSR, its on the ass end of the world, and the facility really is going backwards.

Arno and Dave are two top blokes doing their best to keep the "school" vibe going. there is a major gap in that market, but it's because the tracks are so damn expensive to book.

I'm literally a 5 min ride away from Zwartkops, and I love the track because I grew up next to it, but they need to do a bit more bike focused things.

Yammie noob is a piel

You a helmet dragger, way more extreme!

I decided to get some side panniers for my bike... Should have them installed by next week if all goes well.... Should be fun on me and my dads long trips now...

So the panniers came... happy and all that, take it out of the boxes to check it out, all scratched up... Im like WTF... Send them video etc. So they ordered a new pair and it will be there in the morning, taking these back to be swopped out, if the new ones are also dinged up, refund time. WhenI buy new, I expect new. End of story. I wanna be the one to scratch them, not get them pre-scratched... Ai weet jy... And its not cheap man...

agreed, buy new get new. Regardless of which market it is. There is a PC store that has been unlucky with me. Many new products that have died well before the warranty. Oh boi I can see that I ruin their day if I pop in store. granted it's been about 5 products over a span of a year but the manager deals with me directly now.

Yes, It's a lot of money. Get what you ordered and accept nothing less.

While watching motorcycle ride videos , it made me wish we had better scenery while riding in our country , it's possible there's hidden spots but i fear getting kidnapped riding towards the unknown.

Have y'all ever came across a piece of road and made you stop and go damn now that's the good stuff?

I live in jhb. A road that would make me feel euphoria is one with no potholes and working traffic lights.

I would say a highway with no traffic but that’s probably only at 3am lol.

Its the same here in Durban , I means there's some beautiful farm lands , actually green visuals but you tend to be ducking more potholes or goats than enjoying ones ride 😮‍💨

I have honestly come across a lot of roads and scenery like that... Have been able to stop, take pictures etc...

It is in the "utopia" (note sarcasm) we call the Western Cape, obviously there are certain areas you don't drive through (made those mistakes).
Roads are generally good, but again, it's not perfect.

Do you ride blindfolded?

We have some awesome scenery man. Them rose-tinted glasses got you seeing things wrong.

Scenery? What's that? No time to look at scenery - it's ALWAYS a race to the destination & back again. ;)

Agreed. It may take a bit of a boring ride to get to some nice scenic rides, but they certainly are not far away.
