I bought this on special, mostly due to curiosity since I loved Mechwarrior back in the day and enjoy the story setting.

In a nutshell, it's turn-based (which I normally immensely dislike) and has some similarities to XCOM2. Also it's pretty complex, with a running economy, pilot skill trees and mech customisation to be tweaked ad nauseum. All of this before getting stuck into the various mission types, basically where your lance blows other mechs, vehicles and buildings up.

F/fwd a month and 150hrs of gameplay later and it's safe to say I'm hooked! There are some niggles, but the fun experience outweighs those by an ER Laser shot

Get yourself Annihilator with 4x UAC's + lvl9 tactivs pilot skill (Called Shot mastery). Head shots all day long using called shots.

Have you tried some mods yet ?

Wowza! That sounds Awesome (!).

Currently running 2 Atlas's, an Annihilator and a Highlander, having fun. Need to replace my only UAC, which was destroyed.

Just finished the campaign, busy exploring the DLC areas.
