So I have upgraded my GPU to a 6900xt and when I plugged it in from my 1060 6gb it just won't post. I have taken it out of the case checked all the CPU pins and made sure nothing was bent it anything. I have set it to a single ram stick and tried all the ports and reset the CMOS while it's on. Tomorrow I'm going to purchase some thermal paste so I can. Test it on a friend's machine but any ideas or anything I have missed would be appreciated. I have noted an orange light on the back of the board but from research it seems like it's just an led and doesn't note if it's a warning or alert light.

Unplug the power. Disconnect the CMOS battery for 5 mins. If that fails switch back to 1060 get to BIOS and update it which should refresh the whole thing and restore defaults then perform the change again. Hopefully that works. . Double check that it's in the PCI-E slot correctly too.
