So a seller on Facebook is asking R2000 for this GPU, any advice on how it is? It will be paired with an Ryzen 7 1700x, it will be an upgrade from my current GTX 1050Ti. i had some people recommend me a RX 580 but i'm a bit wary of AMD cards due to bad experiences with the R9 290 i had before.
I know a lot of people is going to recommend me expensive cards or what not but there's just not a possibility of me affording those, so i'm sticking to within my means

Get the RX580.

No. Is there no way you can stretch budget to R3k and hold on for a bit? Maybe even R2800? Many guys selling 2060 supers in this price range which will be a lot better. As in miles ahead better!

In 2021, maybe this would have been a good price. No way you can justify paying 2k for a 1060 in 2023 / almost 2024.

If you really must, you can pick up a 1660 ti for that amount.

The Rx 6600 , I think is the best value for money at the moment .
On heaven benchmark on high 1080p test my friend upgraded recently from a 1050ti . He use to get around 75fps and now with the RX 6600 he gets 220fps ( He paid R3000 for his card Rx 6600 and sold the 1050ti local market for R1600) So the upgrade only cost him R1400 with warranty left on the card .

When I had my old setup owned both GTX1060 and rx580 on heaven benchmark gets around 120fps.
But if you want to spend less maybe look at a 1660ti .

I personally would hold on a little longer if I was you. The 1060 is not much of an upgrade and considering how tough games are evolving, you're going to end up replacing it soon. I'd aim for at least 3k and start looking at 2000 series cards or above for it to be worth it.

Also don't ignore AMD. Unless you can afford a big Nvidia card and actually can use RT and DLSS - AMD can give you better bang for the buck. I went from a 1070 to a RX 6700 XT recently and it's been awesome. The driver support (AMD Adrenalin is much better than Nvidia Experience) has been rock solid despite the stereotypes on AMD. They also offer better VRAM entry levels which is necessary for the looming AAA games on the loom (8GB is struggling already).

Whatever you manage to get though, I hope it's a rock solid deal. I can refer you to the FB Marketplace oke who sorted me out on my 6700 XT since he should have some decent options in and out his stock.

R2000 is far far far too much! The 3Gb VRAM is not great at all, a 4Gb AMD card would be getter but an 8Gb card would be first prize. Also remember that these cards are old now and have done a lot of work so there is some risk.

OP didn't specify, it could be the 6 GB variant, but yeah agreed. R2000 for the 6GB is terrible value. R2000 for the 3 GB would be criminal.

Crap I thought he did, must have been reading another thread with a 1060 too! 😖

I have a 1060 6GB card and there is nothing wrong with it, so yes it is a good card, but since you already have a 1050Ti it wouldn't be much of an upgrade so no not worth IMHO.

Why pay so much for minimum increase in performance?

UserBenchmark: Nvidia GTX 1050-Ti vs 1060-3GB

TBH I would have thought the increase in performance would be less, but according to the above comparisons maybe not a bad upgrade if you are really strapped for cash. Although I am sure if you look around you can find better options for R2-R3k.

Also, it's only anecdotal, but my EVGA 1060 3GB gave up the ghost after around 5 years of use. I'd be cautious about buying a card from 2016 in 2023 OP. It depends a lot on how well the original owner took care of it.

What are you going to do with the 1050ti? If you can, try sell it to score an extra grand and a bit towards your budget.

Way cheaper 1060's being sold on here plus there's far less risk of getting scammed

2K for a 1060? not worth it, bought one for 1.5 about 5 months ago, check the classifieds section here on carb, much better deals for 2k might be able to get a 1070 with that

I will be selling it and using that to upgrade, due to being unemployed, won't be able to add cash on it

Hi there, i need to find out how much i could sell my pc on facebook marketplace, i'm not clued up on hardware pricing. Was considering selling my system and buying a newer more powerful one.
Specs:
Ryzen 7 1700X
24GB DDR4(i think its 3600, not too sure)
GTX 1050ti Low Profile
240GB SSD
200GB HDD
500GB HDD
Thermaltake Full Size Solid Case
Single 80mm Fan
Dude your posts make no sense.

Anyway, that price is too high for a 1060 and not much of an upgrade. The 1070 for R2k is a better deal by a mile.

it does, in order to get another gpu, i would sell mine. the second was simply a question on how much i could sell my pc for if i do decide to go that route, naturally if i do buy another pc, it would have to have a 1660ti minimum, naturally wouldn't sell the gpu seperately

hey man, i worked as a fitness instructor for gym company, after i left, i certified as a personal trainer
