So as title says

There is someone locally nearby me that is selling a Z5500 set, its the mid speaker and two left and right and sub with control switch for like R1000.00

Is this worth it, or am i missing out not having the full 5.1?

Its working 100% according to him,

I have never owned these speakers, so not sure if i should throw 1k at him if its missing two speakers

Here's a pic

He said he can't find the other two so was using sanyos

I'm tempted if they work nice as 3.1 basically

Don’t think you’d miss out on much. Unless you really want 5.1. I’ve been using mine in 3.1 for quite some time, I’m lazy to hang the other two [emoji1751]‍[emoji3603]
1k is cheap. Maybe eBay has 2 satellites for sale?

Offer him R800 and he can keep his 2 shityos :ROFLMAO:
If I was in the market I'd grab them even with just 3. I'm rolling the bigger brother z960 as my lounge setup at the momen, and its treating me well.
Decent 2.1 systems will be around 1k+ anyways and won't come close to the z5500.

Dodgitechs tend to be bass heavy though, so depends on what you'll be doing with it. ( and your level of audiophilia :p )
You should be able to adjust the sub separately though. In short... would buy.

My question is do ppl even do 5.1 or 7.1 anymore? Feels like it was a thing of the 2000s so I would say go for it. I just do 3.1 2 stereo and middle with woofer.

I run my Z906 in 5.1. Works great. 3.1 is fine if you’re not big on surround. Buy it for R1k. If you really feel the need for the rears, you’ll make a plan.

So porn is no no? Lolv

Yeah it's a good deal, amazing speakers and you don't really notice the 5.1 anyways

For 1k I would take it in a heartbeat and just hustle some speakers from your rears. 5.1 and 7.1 is a massive jump from 2.1 and is mainly meant for movies that support it. The level of immersion is next level compared to stereo

Buy them for sure or sell them to one of us. It's a no lose situation :)
Oops : replying to an old thread . All your fault @Nathan1224 :sneaky:

PS: @Nathan1224 - He was not selling him. He was asking advice on buying them
