Hey, may I ask where the warranty is with? What shop or online store, I mean. Might be an issue at some stores to claim the warranty if you don't have a POP.

Warranty is directly thru Microsoft. Once device is registered on your account - if there is ever an issue you then log the return thru Microsoft account.

I’ve don’t this myself with my Elite 2 controller (bought overseas) without any issues.
