Bought from a fellow carbie without a warranty - was barely used before buying and barely used after buying.

If you register the serial number on the Xbox Support site you'll see the actual warranty - It usually is about 2 years from the purchase date. I purchase mine last year May and the MS Warranty is until August next year. You'll notice that purchasing consoles nowadays is not as easy as taking it to the store with the retail slip, they actually give you a note telling you to take it to Microsoft or the actual supplier of the consoles.
