X99: Dual Channel Kit + Quad Channel Kit (6 DIMMS)

ok so, I have these 2 kits:

this is the motherboard:

now should these "technically" work together? being of the same specifications, just different models or will it just not work between a dual and a quad and they should be all part of dual kits (so 3 for the 6 DIMMS)

Tried:
1) Installing as per manual recommendations
2) Switched sticks around (yet still installing as per manual)
3) Installed just the Ripjaws 5 and was detected

unfortunately, my knowledge on what to change in BIOS in regards to XMP and such, is nada

any help would be appreciated

Try disabling the XMP profiles and add the base settings manually to each (de-link them first).

If it still doesn't boot, try setting them to 2133 C16 and see if they boot then. I have seen some weird things using an X99 setup.

Ref: I am on a MSI X99 Gaming Pro Carbon with 2x16GB Vengeance RGB Pro 3200C16 kits. Mine for example is refusing to overclock or accept more voltage to the sticks.

the XMP was disabled at first, so I enabled it but still nothing

I also tried doing a Manual tweak and changed the DRAM Speed to 2400

Have you tried installing one ram stick at a time, booting to check if it works, shutdown, don't remove the sticks already installed and working, install the next ram stick, repeat until you figure out which specific ram stick and slot causes the issue?

I did it like that with just doing dual sticks at a time and as soon as the Quad kit is installed, it gives problem

I had the dual channel kit and 2 sticks from the quad and all four detected, but adding the other 2 sticks it didn't work

and every time the sticks being detected was different

think I will check today with 4 matching sticks of LPX and see if it indeed has to do with the Quad mixing with Dual Channel or Single sticks

if not, then sjoe.... will just try and source another matching kit of the 2x4gig then all sorted
