Cpu and mobo compatible?

Maybe an outdated bios which requires to be updated first, to ensure cpu works on mobo.

My mobo needed an bios update first.

As of now there is no power to the system.........but i strongly believe its an eskom problem....

I will try any advise as soon as they sort out their issue ....even though we all know its only till tomorrow

Well that would be a bummer cause i would presume they will only sell kits that's compatible out of the box

I think you need to be a bit more specific bud.

What board exactly?
What psu?

Old case?

Have you tried bread boarding it?

I am getting my x470 and 3600x on the 19th, the bios will probably need to be updated before I smack the cpu in, but you're absolutely right, evetech should sell the components that work together because not everyone is aware of a) the bios issue and b) how to do it!

I got the same kit but i made sure i specified in the instructions that they should update the bios for me. When i received the kit it booted up first time and the combo runs beautifully. I think your bios hasn't been updated.

What model board is it? You can try a BIOS flashback using a USB port potentially. Unless a particular board has BIOS Flashback you won't be able to flash the BIOS without a supported CPU

I think he has the Strix X470-F motherboard. Board doesn't seem to support Bios Flashback.

Cant believe they sell these bundles without specifying that the bios needs to be updated with zen+ cpu first

Or without updating the bios themselves.
My only real issue I have with evetech

Feels like there's at least one of these threads a month @Evetech Support

I think the quickest way to sort this out (unless you know someone nearby with a 1 or 2 series Ryzen) is to buy one from carb and sell it again after the flash. Unless someone on here will loan you one?

Or depending on your location go to @RebelTech i think its like R150 or something to flash bios maybe even R100.

Do you need a CPU to upgrade the bios?
How am I going to do that?

From Evetech? Check post right after your first one, ask Evetech to do it before they send it.

No. Getting it from Amazon.
Looks like if it has no flashback feature I'm a bit stuck. Poop.

From the last few million threads about Evetech there was one where they stated that all upgrade kids for ryzen has bios updated but in this one instance it wasn't. That's why i rather specified instead of taking a chance. If i remember correctly they were willing to do the bios update for the person in the thread.

Maybe someone around Durbs can help you out, it'll probably a bit easier to find someone than in Uitenhage at least.

Or just try

Hey ? Brand new CPU. Haven't got the board yet. Just planning ahead.

Could be slapped together and bent the pins in the process.

CHECK THE FRIGGIN CPU PINS

Lol. Sorry I hijacked this thread a bit. Sorry Op.
Ya board has not arrived yet, neither has my CPU, how am I going to check for bent pins?? Hahahaha.

Anyway the box says ryzen 3000 ready, so I think I am ok with a newer bios. Could be wrong but I'm going to pop in the cpu and see if it works. Will report back. If I remember during all the excitement.

Evetech: where common sense isn’t so common.

Seriously though, we’ve had several threads like this now. Evetech need to do better.

They did my BIOS update when I bought a kit but I also did put it in my notes and called them to make sure they did it.

You shouldn't have to do that. If you sell two components that aren't compatible without some sort of update or change, you're not doing IT right.

Imagine if I sold you an NVME drive that does not work with a motherboard, as a bundle. The two are completely incompatible and you cannot use the one with the other. Would you be happy?

I bought a b450 mobo at wootware and i had a R 5 1600 cpu i knew it wouldn't work so i asked them to help me with bios update and they did at no charge so it was not even a bundle deal i just asked them a favor.

But yeah bottemline dont sell stuff that does not work together as there might be someone just getting into building a pc and then they buy those bundles

Hi all sorry for late reply

What a hectic day......

I phoned around today to all the local pc shops....first one i phone

"Sorry we dont sell amd hardware, but we are currently building a x470 gigabyte board with the same 3600 cpu"..... Mkay goodluck to you then

Second one i phoned said sure thing for R95 we will sort you out....dropped it off this afternoon but due to the bloody eskom monkeys throwing a spanner in my works yet again ill only be getting it back tomorrow morning...

P.s. i doubt that its bend pins cause wouldn't the qleds pick up the error?...
And when i installed it i did not feel any resistance at all....which surprised me knowing that feeling when installing a intel cpu....where some pressure is needed to lock it in

Anyways thnx guys i will update tomorrow as soon as i get my case back
