With all the time I spend around gaming/enthusiast hardware, it takes a lot to be impressed and even more to get excited about. One can imagine then, that a notebook would be the last thing I’d consider as exciting. however that was until I spent time with WootBook Ultra II. If that doesn’t mean much to you, maybe the latest Intel 10th Generation Core i7 CPU and a refreshed NVIDIA GeForce RTX GPU may pique your interest.

Question... You mention a 240Hz screen, but the 2060 refresh link says it's a 144hz screen?

do you have any indication of how hot it was running or how loud the fans are?

is it possible to add extra hard drive space? as it's not possible to spec anything other than the SSD when configuring?

is the 3 year warranty as good as Dells 3 year next business day warranty?
(Which I have had to use on other Dell laptops of mine and found it some of the best service I ever experienced)

1. It's 240Hz, ignore the link info. :)
2. The CPU and GPU temp will get regulated automatically, but you are looking at 90'C for the CPU under intense loads. during Gaming it's 80 to 88'C depending on your environment. So much like any other gaming notebook. As for how loud, it's audible alright. didn't record any values but I'll see to add them for the video review.

3. The notebook only accepts M.2 drives and has two such sockets. One will be populated with the drive you spec on purchase and the other for upgrades.

4. I am not sure about this so I can't answer, but will find out. 1 year is standard and the 3 additional years you pay for. If it's next business day r not I'm not sure, again best people to ask are Wootware directly.

HI

Has the video review been done yet?

Did you request your Wootbook Ultra II to have a 240hz screen? On the website it indicates 144hz? So are all the Wootbooks Ultra II's have 240hz screens?

As per my emailing with Wootware..

Wootware said:
There are different panels on different Wootbooks.

The WootBook Ultra II 2070S - the most powerful model, has a 240Hz panel to accommodate the graphics card's capabilities.

The other models have 144Hz variants of the panel.

Been playing a few more games and the laptop performs great.

When playing for more than an hour the keyboard does get hot.

Call of duty: War Zone runs at 100 - 110 fps on high settings.
Dota 2 runs between 150 - 200 fps on highest settings
Counter Strike Global runs between 240 - 330 fps on highest settings
Call of the wild runs between 55 and 70 fps on highest settings

Howdy,

How is the Battery life when not gaming (Browsing, MS Office and other light tasks)?

i got 3.5 half hours on the laptop with screen sharpness on about 50% (Google, Youtube and Word).

Thanks for the feedback. Does it have switchable graphics (integrated & Discreet GPU)?
As i understand it does have Nvidia Optimus. To be fair i did not try extend my screen time as i just used it as normal. I did not change the power settings from performance to balance. I am not really sure how the switchable graphics work.

This video just came out of the Electronics G3 which is the exact same laptop (but with the RTX 2070 super and RTX 2080 super max q) for more detail.

I was thinking of buying this Wootbook with the RTX 2070 max p since it looks like real value for money. I haven't found any of the big brands with good specs like this at such a reasonable price. But I now see that Wootware has a Wootbook with AMD Ryzen 7 4800H, so I'm not sure if AMD Ryzen is the way I should go

Definitely take the AMD option if it's there. Only upsides to it with zero downsides

Take the 3 year warranty upgrade as well... Bought a Wootbook Ultra II and went faulty within 2 weeks, received a new one and went faulty within 15min of switching it on and the 3rd had a dead pixal... I was not meant to have a Wootbook...

But awesome service from Wootware!

Wow, thanks for sharing your experience. I will definitely take the 3-year warranty now. I'm sorry you went through 3 bad laptops, but at least Wootware's service was good, we don't really hear of businesses being so helpful these days. I hope the 4th times the charm for you.

Wootware has some of the best service i have ever come cross! I just order a new Wootbook today because of the great service. Throughout this whole experience they were very quick to help me. My refund was payed into my account within one hour of requesting my money back.

I would really highly recommend Wootware.

As i understand from reading online and talking to Wootware my luck regarding this Tongfang laptop was extremely unlucky...
