This. Anything after the 2019 March uodate is shit. Just stick to the very specific Oct 2018 update for best performance. I still play all latest games no problem so people shouldnt start with "bUt UpDaTeS aRe ImPoRtAnT" shit.Haven't really been following the issues around the update but i can tell you that i seem to have lost some gaming performance after the update. Might be a placebo but Im seeing frames I've never seen before in games i play very often.
If you enjoying using beta software go ahead xDSo I am worried if I update to v1903 it might stuff up my 4th gen setup ,currently have i7 4790k cpu .Anyone updated yet and are there any issues?
Look, I’ve never had a bad experience with windows update but that doesn’t meant that people haven’t.Another Windows update thread
I've never understood why people have issues. I have a laptop, a NUC at work, a "downloader" NUC and a gaming PC at home. On all four I just leave them to do their update thing when they need to - never proactively try and get an update early.
At worst an update interrupts my day for 5 minutes and then it's business as usual. No performance issues, no disappearing files, no errors.
I thought that only hit the early adopters? Either way; true. Many people seem to have issues. Maybe I'm just lucky.Look, I’ve never had a bad experience with windows update but that doesn’t meant that people haven’t.
Microsoft themselves have issued multiple warnings with regards to their updates, the most infamous is when desktop files were lost.
Preach! I can't help rolling my eyes when someone says something happened to their PC or laptop and they've "lost everything". There's just no excuse these days. All four of my computers, my tablet AND my phone could all disappear completely right now and I'd lose nothing...and I pay R100pm for cloud storage.I still have my files synchronized to Cloud so that’s not a concern to me.
I tried using that setting a while back but it never seemed to work properly. Now I just let it happen when it happens and it never seems to happen at a particularly bad time.In addition, my active hours are set to times when I’m not going to be behind the PC ie 3am.
I remember sitting through a solid day of updates and (probably unnecessary) restarts whenever I did a clean install...which was often. WinXP was amazing and awful at the same time. The Windows 10 update delivery is a billion times better than the Windows XP delivery. Fuck me, XP updates drove me insane.
If you have a laptop that is slow in windows, its probably the HDD. Swop it out for an SSD and it will be fast.I updated to 1903 recently on my laptop and desktop.
Both are 3rd gen. The desktop is fine, the laptop is slow AF.
Dual core with hyper-threading can’t cut the mustard any more. My new laptop is a 12 thread 8750H for that reason.
I might move my laptop to Linux though.
My xbox controller still working as shouldWell not sure if it is windows or steam , but I noticed my xbox one controller layout is messed up .
Eg - right analog is A button
- right bumper is right analog down
Might be steam , might be windows
