Good day guys hope that someone might be able to help me.

We have a dubble storey house and unluckly the only way I could install fibre is to get it in the first floor in a corner.

In our bedroom in the second floor and my PC also upstair I have little to no signal so really having bad time trying to play games or even stream on my phone. Will the normal WIFI Extenders work to solve the problem?

Regards

Try get the powerline adapter. Works 100 percent if the house wires allow for it, plus you can plug in with the lan cable

The normal ones are horrible and overpriced - I was gonna discuss better options but honestly your best bet is running an Ethernet cable to your room upstairs. Outdoor trunking doesn't look that bad after a while.

In my experience they dont last as long and dont provide the full speed.

I’m unable to put cable outside and upwards due to the Estate policies. That quite bad!

Powerlines might not always run rated speeds, but if you need connectivity and latency powerline gets it done 9/10 times

Wireless extenders is a lucky packet

I had the exact same problem and added a Powerline adapter yesterday. Got my full 10mbps fibre connection and ping on csgo was ~20 when plugging the LAN cable directly into the laptop; I still have to test with an additional router.
If you have faster fibre or plan on streaming within the network, I would get the more expensive ones (~R1000)

Extenders work best when the extender is out of range of the main unit and plugged in with a LAN cable.
Why I say this is, they act like two different wifi networks. Your devices won't switch over from one to the other automatically, based on which one has the strongest signal (3rd party software can do this, but....meh)
Your devices will hang on to the one weak signal until they lose it completely and only then will it search for a new network and hopefully connect to the closer one.
For moving devices, like a phone you really need mesh networking, but currently it's so damn expensive :(
That said, you mention gaming on a pc, and yes, for stationary devices extenders work great.

I’ll give this a go, I’m stuck for now with a 10MB as well.

I've been using my poweline adapter for over a year and get my full 20Mbp and latency, no issues at all

Could you expand on your experiences and how many?

Maybe its just my house having shoddy wiring but had 2 different kits (both sub 1k price range) and both didn't last more than a year (they died) and speeds were 2mbps less (so 6mbps max from a 8mbps line). This back in the telkom adsl days thou so like 2010.

So switched to running ethernet cable through the roof (and out one room where the trunking isnt noticeable)

the first ones were actually the 300mbps version of these funny enough. the other ones might have been zyxel

2 unifi ubiquitis?

Buy via Takealot, if it doesn't work, return it

Unless you mean the mesh ones, because the unifi aps will still require running ethernet cable. Although they can run in receiving mode
