Why I will always choose Huawei

In my experience a lot of people mock me for owning a Huawei thinking it's a cheap Chinese phone (and that's not even Apple users), but little do they know...

Anywho, I've converted my entire family to Huawei because I truly believe in their products. But they offer something of even more value, great customer service.

I phoned their call centre today to ask about the Android P and EMUI 9 Beta programme and why I haven't been approved. First of all the call centre is I'm South Africa, all the points for that. Second of all the guy I spoke to (Lerato) was excellent, treating me with respect and he was very knowledgeable about the Beta programme. He also was able to pronounce my name and surname which even I struggle with.

So he helped me get in touch with the correct department. After phoning the incentive department, they couldn't quite figure out why my profile wasn't on the system, so I sent Lerato an email stating that they cannot assist does he have any other solutions and he agreed to help me out even though this has absolutely nothing to do with the department he is working in.

This is just a nod to Huawei and their excellent customer service. Will Apple do the same for you?

I love their devices. I've owned the Mate 10 Pro and the P20 Pro.
With that said, just wait till you need replacement parts/batteries/original chargers....Good Luck.

As for Apple, they'll gladly help you...while emptying your wallet behind your back.

I don't know, Ive had pretty good luck. Charging port was "loose" on my P9 Plus, they sent a courier to come and pick it up for free (and deliver it back to me) they replaced the entire main board, for free, and they also replaced the screen (which had a couple of scratches on), for free, all within a week or so.

Just wish they still had their store in Menlyn where you could pick up the majority of accessories for their phones.

I'm currently on the Mate 10 Pro, sitting, waiting, wishing for the Mate 20 Pro to drop... But the price might not be far off from the new iPhones.

I won't go into detail but we dealt with them on a fairly large scale and we were let down quite a few times.
It always seemed to happen around the launch of a new device. P20 Pro with a broken charger and one with a misplaced charger. No stock available...with no eta on arrival.
Not to mention the sheer struggle of getting through to them.

Maybe things have changed....It wasn't all that long ago though.
Hit me up when the Mate 20 Pro launches. Will give you a good deal on one, better deal than anyone else on Carb can give you ;)

That saddens me a little bit, guess I'm lucky by not having to deal with them on a large scale. I think the consumer side of things might be a bit better as they have always been very quick to respond via their HiCare app which also impressed me.

Aww damnit, just what I needed more fuel on my phone CUD fire. Will keep it in mind, thanks very much for the offer.

I agree 100%. Their customer service is next level. My wife's P9 broke after 18 months , simply called them , they had a courier at my work the next day, and delivered the repaired phone 3 days later. Didn't charge me a cent. They have my loyalty. After that experience I purchased the Hauwei Honor View 10. Such an amazing phone , a flagship in every sense. When will the apple zombies realize they are being ripped off big time?

Umm TBH I don’t think iPhone users have that problem as the phone just does an upgrade and it’s done 😂
But I don’t have a problem with any phone I love the Samsung note series and iPhone is expensive and that’s about it. Huawei is a great phone and for the price why not it is a lot cheaper but it’s the same quality. A phone I hate is the Nokia lumia series running on Windows that was bad.

So I just think it goes about what system you prefer it’s like pc vs Xbox vs PS

My p8 lite became crappy after a year. I sold it and went for Xiaomi. I found it better value for money, however, I've never needed to send in my phone for repairs in my life thus far.

I would agree that Huawei's support is top notch, as i read aboit the collection and delivery service if your device is in warranty.

Also love Huawei. First phone was the P9 Plus, and recently got the P20 Pro. I broke the P9 Plus screen and had to give it in on Monday, got an SMS yesterday that it's fixed. All under warranty.

I've only been using Huawei phones for the past 5 or so years.
Both me and the wife.
I've never had to deal with huawei customer service or repair though.
For me it also has to do with affordability.
I never spend more than R300pm on a contract.
I just think its ridiculous to have a phone that runs crisis on ultra settings and pay close to a grand a month.
I barely take 10 pics a year also.

I would alternate between Huawei, Xiaomi and possibly older pixels or oppos in a heartbeat over any of the 'more popular brands'

Cool to see all the love for the "under dogs" that actually innovate year after year.

Still waiting on approval on the beta app and waiting on a reply from Lerato. Huawei ZA on Twitter have told me to just wait it out as they will be pushing the Android P update to older phones after the 16th of October with the launch of the Mate 20 Pro. The only problem is, I am a child and cannot wait 😂

Why I dont use Huawei Phones :
1.Knockoff Apple skin with no appdrawer and large deviations from googles guidlines
2.Hisilicon Kirin processors and having to pay to unlock the bootloader for some devices.
