Which Smart TV will work? DSTV NOW APP.

Good morning all!

I want to buy a 40inch smart tv, my dilemma is which smart tv to buy which will work on the DSTV now app?

Here is a list of the supported samsung models, but I can not find them.

Has someone tested it without the tv lists?

Getting a proprietary OS smart TV in general is risky from a longevity point of view (IMHO), as the manufacturers eventually stop updating the OS and the apps.
If I were you, I would get the best (non-smart) TV money can buy, with an added eg. Chromecast or an Android box.

Chromecast is probably the best from convenience point of view, as you do your selection in the comfort of your phone (instead of getting frustrated while waving that air-mouse/remote around and aiming at letter by letter on the TV screen).

Now, not all the apps work with Chromecast (notably, Amazon Prime Video), but most do.

So you don’t need the flash player to stream?

One of my friends couldn’t stream because it does not have the flash player

My budget is max 5k. I only want to use the tv to watch youtube and watch dstv by streaming.

i have a 2016 lg 4k smart tv and my tv received the DSTV Now app in December 2018.

the safest route to go is to get a google certified device. like the xiaomi mi box. (a local one of course).
many of my friends bought smart tvs and everything works great until the manufacturer decides to stop updating the firmware (ie certification expires).

also when using the mi box (3 i think) wired lan is the way to go.
