Bit of a revive...
I have to say that cool ideas have been shockingly poor from the start to the finish.
The crazy thing is, everyone recommended them when I was able to finally get fibre.

I went and read reviews, it's like last year they couldn't put a foot wrong...This year however, it seems like customer service has fallen through the floor.

Net is currently down because of a wide scale DDos attack on their network...apparently.

Anyway.....

I went and read reviews, it's like last year they couldn't put a foot wrong...This year however, it seems like customer service has fallen through the floor.

Net is currently down because of a wide scale DDos attack on their network...apparently.

Anyway.....
Explains the last two or three nights of poor performance and even full on Internet outages, also had an effect on a friend who is on vuma and cool ideas. I'll give them a little while to sort their issue out before I start getting upset. They've been super painless and have never given me a shit excuse for anything unlike homeconnect with their "we don't have international servers" excuse that they used to give me when I had issues with them... I rather have a ISP be honest and say "we don't know but we're going to try this and that" rather than a dumbo telling me they don't have servers located on the moon so that's why my Google maps isn't working.

Out of curiosity, aside from the customer service, as you deal with CoolIdeas, which is clearly under strain and not good, are the issues technical of nature and actually lie with the infrastructure provider, i.e. Vumatel or other, or are the problems on CoolIdeas side?

Had some issues myself last night with the connection, struggling with Twitch and YouTube live streaming (consumer side, not upload). It was frustrating but I didn't give it enough thought that Vuma/CISP were messing about.

Everything so far has been on Cool Ideas side.
They messed up my fibre order 3 times, they ended up adding my details to someone else's account, his details on my account. They then sent me those details via email. So I got a clients full details, ID, address, contact details ect, and I presume that he got mine.
Then they messed up telling me I had to pay immediately, when in fact I was only supposed to pay once Vumatel installed the CPE. This took another 3 weeks. Then more admin mistakes, looking at my account right now, there is still a mistake with ID/Passport details.

On top of that I got rid of my Telkome LTE package, because Fibre is supposed to be near perfect with very few issues...but that has not been the case.

Anyway, I don't want to bitch and moan...but man you expect a certain level of service and what I received was not that level.

I've seen the news about the ddos, strangely I've not been affected, my internet been running fine throughout this...

I've been trying to speak to them all day (On the phone), can't get through. Eventually I give them shit on twitter, they respond an hour later, asking if I'm still on hold....

Tried calling again, still can't get through, complain again on twitter...Oh they've figured out something is wrong with their phones...So it took them 4 hours and a client complaining to figure out something is wrong...lol You can't make this stuff up.

Move to a good ISP, this wasn't the first time something at Cool Ideas happened and it won't be the last either.

Based on my experience with AH, no thank you. Promises the world day 1, delivers it day 2, end of the world for AH day 3. Also, their call centrw staff is incompetent.

Had actually multiple issues with them. Glad I am not dealing with them anymore.

For those on cool ideas, remove auto dns and try using opendns or google dns for now.
