So the new Nintendo Switch revision with improved battery life is already available in most countries. Does anyone know where to get one locally? Will probably come to Amazon soon but the Rand is so weak right now might not even be worth it

You could pop an email to pc link computers they import Lotsa things also Raru could possibly assist your other option includes the Nintendo store in Santon city :)

Improved revision? I'm only aware of them releasing a switchless Switch.

There is a new revision released (already available in other countries). They are manufacturing the SOC on a reduced semiconductor node, resulting in about double the battery life. It has a new box and everything, but selling for the same price. So buying the outdated version right now is a bad move.

I contacted Nintendo South Africa directly and they said we will have to wait until early September

Wait... Core aren't going to release the "new" switch until the very last "old" one is sold. Yes that Core unfortunately...

Only way to know if you're getting the new one is the red box.

Core group seriously?? say no more... I was hoping to rather buy local in case of warranty etc but sounds like Amazon will be the way to go

Yep, Core are Nintendo SA unfortunately.

Although I wouldn't do an amazon import just yet, no guarantee you'll get the new one. The power adapter is also an issue unless you want to use an adapter, switches are fussy.

I just popped into the sandton city nintendo store and the staff state they have no idea when the above will be coming in ;) so much for customer centric focus #retailscrubs

On a similar note, does Core handle the joycon repairs? I've read that Nintendo have been offering free joycon repairs to fix the drifting issue.
