Why do motherboards come with less and less USB ports? It's something you can't really have too much of and it's not like it has been replaced with a new form of data transfer hardware. SATA has been replaced with M2 storage, but what happened to USB?

USB Type B is being replaced with Type C. So you'll begin seeing more of those.

What are you talking about?
I just selected random from lowest to highest price and they all have at least 4 usb ports.
Also, your case should have front usb to expand 2-4 ports.

You’re buying the wrong motherboard.

Buildzoid does a rambling video about a new chipset and all of the motherboards and often complains about motherboards with fewer than 6 USB ports.

You can get a decent rear I/O for your money if you buy smart.

I want a board of under R10,000 with 12 ports like the Rampage IV extreme I had, came out with. I'll never pay +R20,000 for a board. Very little people will be willing to pay that much.
