Hi Guys,

I'm looking at buying new TV. I have done a little research and after all the hardwork I came to conclude that I will be going for Skyworth 40'' Digital FHD Led TV - 40E2A12G, it costs R3500 at take a lot. After checking all the specs it looks like it's a good deal for the money. Plus it also has 3 year warranty.

Can someone point out the cons of this TV set if there is any before I make a purchase.

Thank you guys.

Looks solid , enough a quick google reveals incredible connection sells it , maybe just check at a incredible connection near you and see how it looks in person ?

And make sure it can play NETFLIX..I have the android box version..and there is no NETFLIX

They are decent enough. Can't speak about that specific model but have seen their 55" 4K smart TV model and it was great. I would rate them on par with Hisense from what i've seen but it's hard to judge in that budget price bracket. Seems like a good deal

I went to Pick N Pay Hyper Woodmead and I checked it out, it's really not that bad. I just played around with the remote a little bit but it looks solid.

That might be a challenge but I have a plan. I will go to Pick N Pay and connect the TV to the hotspot and test Netflix. About the Android Box, I saw an article on MyBB where the Skyworth Support Team confirmed that.

User: Just a question. Has Skyworth even applied to have the Binge box netflix certified ? Telkom seem to have got it right with the LIT.
Skyworth Support Team: We have discussed this with Netflix, and they have not agreed to certify us. Our situation is somewhat different from Telkom's. For further information, we must direct you to Netflix for comment.

I also think it's a good deal. I will keep you updated

I'm actually looking for an affordable TV so let us know what it's like if you buy it .
You can be the guinea pig ;)

I've seen them at Game too.
They currently have a 40" FHD HiSense for R3699, but it expires today.

I'm not sure how it compares to the Skyworth one you're interested in specs wise, but it has a 4 year warranty and it's a more well known brand (IMHO) with local support.
That special really made my day, it's only R100 off. It's actually expensive because you can get it for R3,400 at Loot.co.za. The issue with these TVs is that once I buy it I also have to buy an Android TV box, but with the Skyworth it is already using the Android TV OS meaning that I have killed two birds with one stone.

The specs are almost the same with the Skyworth if not more. See below

I don't see where it shows that it uses Android TV OS. Is the Skyworth a smart TV or just a digital TV?

I am not sure if it is the MXqpro media box but most of those media boxes do run on andriod so to get netflix going just allow untrusted sources to be installed and download the netflix APK from the chrome or any internet app and your good to go.

Actually wanted to avoid that..hence I bought a google certified box

Looks like takelot has a special
Hisense 40" for R3499

You can do this but then Netflix only works with SD content. Only devices certified by Netflix will show 4k and HD content.
