Well this is good news - Disney+ in SA!!!

My only problem with the service is we have the hot star version which means there are lots of bugs and compatibility issues.
It’s always been that way, waiting for BAMTECH to reach the level of Netflix or Amazon is like waiting for Disney to release TRON legacy in 4K.
Another thing that I have noticed, there are some series that are already streaming in the US, and are several seasons ahead actually....so why is it not available here in SA already?? Take an example of something my wife watched recently, "Law & order special victims unit" she watched them all that was available on Showmax and not all the seasons mind you, up to season 21...but they are on Season 24 by now, but nowhere so far, unless I missed it by accident and anyone is welcome to correct me, but I cannot find them showing the latest anywhere here in SA.
DStv. MultiChoice has the rights. They can choose not to stream it.

Unless they line up with what the US are getting at the same time, then these streaming services just aint worth it, from my point of view that is...Because I believe we all want to watch the LATEST content. That's just my view from i have experienced so far...
You’re comparing apples and oranges, you want live TV streaming for weekly latest content and others want VOD to binge.

Reviving this thread - Thought I would get some feedback as to what you'll think of Disney+?

It's not bad. It's the "international" version of D+ which means you get a bunch of stuff from Hulu, FX, etc. in addition to all the Disney/Marvel/Lucasfilm/NatGeo stuff. So there is lots of variety.

Note resolution is limited to 720p on PC and VIDAA (Hisense) OS. It works up to 4k on pretty much everything else though: Search - Disney+

A single month is only R 139, so you can try it out for a month and see if you like it, and if not just cancel.

I got Showmax, Netflix, Prime and Disney+. I use Disney+ 80% of the time. Probably stems from Disney buying up companies and franchises I like.

I only have Prime for Grand Tour and recently Fallout and Hazbin Hotel.
Showmax my wife mainly uses for local shows. Sucks it doesnt have MKR and Come dine with me SA. Some of our local movies are hollywood quality.
Netflix I barely use and only go into it if what I am looking for isnt in Disney+. I should actually cancel it.

Prime's movie catalogue is greater than the entirety of netflix at 11k titles?
Perhaps just a bit harder to search through them?

Either way I recommend this: JustWatch - The Streaming Guide to find what to watch on all your streaming services

Quite interesting, for my Disney+ I basically never use it. Id say I split mine 60% prime, 30% netflix, 5% apple tv+, 5% disney+/showmax (pretty much only for the disney movies that aren't on the rest) (oh and i have crunchyroll as well but ill admit, i barely use it)

My dad is basically exclusively prime and my mum is netflix first, prime second. my sister is also only netflix.
And then i believe a friend uses my disney sub

I do have a list of stuff I want to watch on disney+ but list wise it ranks below the stuff i want to watch on the other platforms

Is JustWatch anything like MyFamilyCinema I hate that I have to give permissions to all my videos, contacts everything to an app which is only supposed to be used for streaming.
Can the JustWatch app be downloaded and installed on a TV? Or do I need a TV box for it?

JustWatch is just a website that lists where things are available for streaming in your country. You don't need to install or log into anything.

E.g. if you want to watch Forrest Gump but you don't know where it's streaming, you search their site for Forrest Gump and it tells you where you can stream it.

And bingo, it's on Netflix and Showmax, and you can also buy or rent it on AppleTV.

Prime has really good series. I've solely had Prime for the last year (2 years?) and I haven't run out of things to watch yet.

I'm all for supporting local but our version was dog poo. I dont know if it's any better but besides the controls being buggy there was no 4k or Dolby Atmos support. I tried going the VPN route for the international version but just ended up sailing the high seas again for anything I can't get on Netflix, Prime or Apple.

My favourites have been The Boys and Invincible. I really want to get in to Jack Reacher. American Gods was sooooo good. Still have the finale to watch though

Yesss!!! All three are so great! Don't expect too much from the ending of American Gods - the show was cancelled quite abruptly so they didn't get to wrap up all the loose ends very well. I can't wait to watch Season 4 of The Boys. Haven't had a chance to start it yet.

Reacher is good. If you enjoyed that you should give Jack Ryan a go. I enjoyed!!!
