guys, wth is it such a mission to try and watch Twitch streams?????

1 day I can ALMOST decently watch SOME stream and then other days, more often, it just buffers every few seconds

weirdest part is that, when I can watch, it is 720p and my 10meg line is running at like half speed

next day, line spikes even when trying 480p and again, still not even barely half speed

has anyone had this kind of issue and then maybe tried to see if a VPN fixes this?

yes, you can watch Twitch streams once they are done, but wtf is the point if you want to interact during a stream

Try this

Worked for me

go into your extensions and in the search bar put this

Alternate Player for Twitch.tv

add it, and then your twitch will change to a different player, im on a 10mb line, and i watch on source now just by using this player.

There is a gear cog bottom right of the new player, there you can change the video, mines always on highest, aswell to enable chat in sidebar

Try it out :)

that was first thing I tried out once upon a time and it did nothing :(

I would also not have the faintest idea on what to check if router may have some kind of throttle on it, but since we would never have wanted something like that on in first place, doubt something was put on

Can you download and use the app on Samsung smart TVs again?

In normal twitch i can only get 720p, everything higher buffers constantly
Soon as i enable that extention for alternative twitch player, i can watch at 1080p and source no issues, with no buffering

I been only using this twitch player for past year or two and works perfect

Mines 10mb capped dsl and works cool in the pool.

Maybe something wierd in router settings .

Sent from my BLA-L09 using Tapatalk

1) wouldn't know - our uncapped is supposed to be "Premium" but I also get it on Afrihost capped
2) Mweb and Afrihost
3) Asus DSL-N55
If your watching on a wired setup, have you tried wireless / another wired device using a different cable? Is this DSL?

DSL yes

can try another wired device tomorrow, but wouldn't wireless already give issue since ours isn't that great?

touching my wood....

I mean, touch wood....

fiddling with the settings so far 720p is going ok

but time will tell cause usually as soon as I say something, it craps out again

In theory yes, provided your cable is not kaking. Trying to eliminate the following:

Device
Cable
LAN port (modem and PC ).

Can you stream say netflix, YT, other sites in 1080p no issue? Have you tried Chrome, FF, Edge, Opera? Try this both when non streaming (kick the wife etc off the LAN while you do this):

CMD -> tracert twitch.com (or what ever the url is) & screen print / copy-paste the result please.

well don't need 1080p, but I can do YT and I think my father can do Netflix on his phone

just not sure on what his res is though so maybe will try that as well and see

I have the same issue on the same line just different ISP. Will try out the alternate player

got mine to do decent 720p by adjusting the settings heavily

I think there might be some delay, but I am fine with that

was such a pleasure the last 2 times trying to watch something and just switching it on and it running without any buffering (well noticeable)

so thanx @Miz3r, I should have just tested Alternate again, but I never knew about the settings you are able to fiddle with

so let's hope now after I say this, I don't encounter a problem again :(

Someone's on the wifi? Windows updates? Can you check traffic through your router?
