The real concern here is if nothing is out of the ordinary why did the charge back on the card happen?

1. Stolen fraud card was used
2. Some kind of debt related issue
3. You requested the chargeback from your bank

Whatever the reason is the money was reversed by the the card issuer that was used in the transaction. That does not happen automatically even after all this time. It is what it is.

Wise words … I bought a laptop drive a few years ago from laptopdirect. It was DOA, and the way your company handled it "in an adult manner" was just denying all responsibility and saying that it was caused by the shipping company - leaving me R800 out of pocket.

yes, it was packaged very well - so I don't think it was shipping damage.
Bro I am not affiliated with the website in anyway, you definity did not buy a laptop from me. An unfortunate coincidence or oversight on my part for having the same name...but that is all. No connection of any kind to website.

The reason that card was used is that I had purchased something for my mother on that card previous to the said transactions, I then forgot to change the default card after that, I paid and did not even notice. My 70 yr old mother did not recognize the transactions and did not know they were mine... She reported it and opened an enquiry. She is in an assisted living facility and was advised to report it right away. It's not that complicated, I am sure many users have ordered items from Amazon, etc for our parents and charged their cards... Its not a crime, it's a mistake. It seems like a lot of carb users always assume the worst even when a perfectly plausible explanation is offered. I understand the reason carb works is because of this forum making ppl accountable but it should also be balanced and fair...I am not and have never been involved in fraudulent behavior or any other crime for that matter. You welcome to check my Facebook Marketplace rating, I have a perfect record and not a single complaint since it began as well as a bid or buy account with around 600 transactions and a 99% rating. Theft and fraud is generally not a one off incident, it usually follows a pattern and is repeated over and over again...

It's not a nice place to be sitting having to defend oneself against an allegation made by strangers on a public forum. While I understand the concerns, I don't have to be here, this isn't a court, I am here by choice because I want to resolve the issue and reputation is everything in business and social media. I have reached a resolution with @RIK and @B-Hawk and would appreciate an opportunity to honor my commitments.

Well that is all you had to say really. The transaction was reversed by a the relative who is the owner of the card and I will make good on the transactions. I did read through the whole thread and all you said was it can't be ect that is why I assumed the worst because fraud happens WAY more often than a simple mishap.

Well said, i should have done exactly that but remember I didn't have a clue at the time. I didn't have an explanation, and that's not a nice position to find oneself in. Everyone was insistent that I explain mysf and I did not have the answer so I guess I was a bit tongue tied.

Bud you only have yourself to blame, it took 2 months to get to this point. After that timeframe how else can people react but assume you are running some kind of scam.

Past reputation is all very well but if you had turned out to be a scammer you wouldn't have been the first supposed good guy that went rogue.

Glad it's all worked out well in the end though.

Wait he still hasn't settled with you guys yet?
As of current, no he has not.

What's the hold up, 2 months not enough time.
Well, to be fair, we were awaiting the outcome of the chargeback dispute.

He did however reach out a couple 'o days ago, explained his current situation and offered to pay us back as soon as able.
