2015 Golf 7 GTI DSG
Oryx White (Same as the R pearl white)
Mileage 52-53k (Bought at 30k)
Reverse Camera
Adapative Headlights
Navigation
Keyless Start
PDC front and rear
Upgraded radio to MIB2 which supports Car Play etc
Maintenance has just expired but can be renewed with VW

No mods since purchased kept it stock standard. Happy to send you some pics etc if you DM me your email.

I have a 2015 A45 fully specd with maintenance plan, but you will need to increase your budget.

Willing to take a A45 ;)
No way you will find one in your budget in any reasonable condition. I was planning on buying a CLA (same same with boot) as there is a 2015 one in the family. 2014 models are still fetching R430-450K+. The ones closer to R400k are all trashed. good luck.

As for the R, again tight budget but more doable than the Merc.
Both cars cost a pretty penny to maintain as well, especially the mercs. The merc I would say is the better of the 2 overall but you pay for it.

Pro's and Cons:
Merc has more power stock, VW is more viably tuneable.
Merc has much much better brakes, Suspension and better options
VW will be cheaper to maintain (for your budget you wont get one in plan)
Vw is a more daily friendly car, Merc has a nice interior apart from that terrible center dash with all the buttons in the world and the afterthought ipad screen. MMi also dated badly.
Both are equally reliable I would say
Golf would be more practical

I ended up with a S3 sedan and happy I picked it over the CLA. But again, This caliber of car at your price is looking for trouble.

Hi , thanks for the awesome advice !
I am busy finalizing a A45 AMG 2015 with 39KM , Plan is about to expire but getting in my budget.
Vehicle is stock with no kit unfortunately , I did a test drive a wow she is quick ! Definitely worth the hype , will be my first Merc I purchase.

Will post pics once purchased ;)

I wouldn't say that either car is reliable. Both like to destroy turbos

On the a45 amg check the turbo charger for a part number that ends in 480(stand to be corrected) as this is the revised turbo charger.
The earlier models have the turbo charger with the 280 part number and have failed.

Where the hell did you find a A45 for under R350K???? Fuck me, Fuck me even more with the low k's

Even trade value of 2014's are still over R400k

In both cases the issue was fixed in later model years

VW/Audi anything after mid 2014 will have the revised turbo ( 06K 145 702 J ) is the old turbo part no.

Merc revised the oil feed line from, again mid 2014. The issue wasn't the turbo's it was the oil feed that got clogged. It would the starve the turbo bearings of oil and cause failure. Merc had a recall for all 13/14 production year 45AMG models to replace the oil feed line. Turbos were tested and anything over 0.08mm axle play would have warranted a turbo replacement.
