Can someone please explain to me what is going on with Vumatel and Vumatel Reach?

Last month I received e-mail saying that my 8Mbps line will be discontinued and that it will be upgraded to a 10Mbps up and down line in April 2021. Fair enough as I started of a few years ago with a 4Mbps and each time I was upgraded for free or a minimal charge. Currently I pay R549 per month for the 8Mbps but now for the 10Mbps upgrade I will pay R755 at Axxess. I don't need an asymmetrical line or even a 10Mbps download speed but that is the entry level for Vumatel and quite expensive for entry level fibre.

Now I hear from a work colleague that he started his fibre this month in his new home and is paying R399 per month for a 20Mbps download and 10Mbps upload line at Webafrica. The only difference between us is the ISP that I am on Vumatel and he is on Vumatel Reach. I can change ISP to Webafrica but that will only give a saving of about R60 for 10Mbps down and 1Mbps down line but not sure what the price might be when Vumatel only offers 10Mbps up and down from April 2021 onwards.

So why is Vumatel Reach about R300 cheaper with twice the line speed of Vumatel?

Vumareach is limited to speeds (think Max 20/20Mbps) aswell as ISPs (4 instead of 50 odd available).

It's a great product in terms of value, but limited in coverage area.

Edit: another cost saving method is router and ONT are the same device. I assume Vuma do PPPoE relay to the ISP or maybe resell IP breakout to ISPs, so you end up with a CPE you can't login in.
