So for some time now I've had numerous outages with Rocketnet on vumatel (Roodekrans). Their (Rocketnet) excuses range from "check the status page" to "we raised a ticket with vumatel" and "are you connected now?" to name but a few. I'm getting tired of the lack of transparency on my isp's part and need to start looking at other providers.

Anyone in and around my area using someone other than rocketnet that is reliable and transparent with their client base? Anyone with rocketnet having the same issues with some detailed answers as to what the AF is going on?

cheers!

Try Vox, im sort of "across" the road in Rangeview and haven't had any issues with Vox, also tbh im on the Vodacom infrastructure so your problem could just be VumaHell but agree that your ISP should at least be a bit more transparent..

Hi

I'm in Wilropark. I do think Vumatel are mostly to blame. I'm with Mweb and I can't say there have been no issues with them. We were picking up a problem once every two weeks with loss of internet for 10-20min but since November last year, it seems to be a lot better and we've hardly been affected (I think it's happened twice since then). Isp's are strange, what works for one doesn't work for another. There are people who don't like Mweb. I will not go back to Vox because they were terrible, but the previous post has had no problems.

All the best in your search.

I've been with them for a year now. Started on a 10mbps line and then moved to a 50mbps line and I've got no complaints. Their service has been pretty good from install through the upgrade.

I get regular communications regarding outages and updates.

I would also suggest Vox, but if the vumatel infrastructure is faulty in your area no isp will improve it unless they do a better job at complaining about it lol.
