One thing to consider is that even if the Quest is a mobile console, with tuned down graphics, the games remain very much the same. The Quest falls more into the realm of Mobile Console...e.g. Nintendo Switch. I see PSVR as the (very literal) console equivalent to PCVR.
Comparing it to a Switch it's clear that the Quest is not for everybody....but it does have its place in the market and certainly it's aimed at a "low entry barrier" market.
The same way that Index is not that interesting to everybody...but those who already own a 2080Ti are obviously placing their orders.
Because of that and the relative low population of VR, cross platform has been pushed quite a bit,
In other words PSVR, Oculus Rift, Vive and the Quest can play Rec room together.
Rec room paintball lots of fun, especially with the new controller based movement system.
I have a 1080ti and that better resolutions headsets are kind of screaming at me atm. But the wireless and multiplayer aspect made me choose the Quest over the S and Index (which I cannot afford)
