Deal Thread URL:[Sale] - NZXT H500 matte white case | Cases
Seller:
@Wise_Cheese
Buyer: @F1utt3rD4sh
Description of Bad Deal:
Sat, June 11th @12:17pm, Seller (@Wise_Cheese) Lists the Item (NZXT H500 Matte White Case).
Sat, June 11th @14:22pm, Buyer (@F1utt3rD4sh) Replies to post and sends a personal message to Buyer.
The Buyer and I then moved the conversation over to Whatsapp. The Buyer and I converse about the condition of the case, sending pictures and what not making sure the case doesn't have any significant damage. The seller then says the case will be stripped tomorrow of its internals and will send better pictures to show the case is in good condition. I say that "as soon as the check is done I can send the funds" and should send the banking details in the meantime while so the transaction can go fast and smoothly.

Sunday, June 12th @1:16pm: The buyer messages me "Hey man sorry the case sold with my mobo and cpu and watercooler. Guy had cash I couldnt say no". No further discussions took place and thus I'm here (the Buyer) posting a Bad Deal thread.

Conversation transcript:
(Saturday, June 11th @2:29pm - 3:12)
Me: Hey there 😁. F1utt3rD4sh here.

Seller: Hey man. You interested in the case?

Me: Yes I am. Would it be possible to just to see some pictures just to check the condition and make sure it is what I'm looking for, just to be save, if you don't mind?

Seller: Yeah man no stress just excuse as i havent cleaned it since i got it🙈🙈

Seller: *sends 3 pictures of Case*

Me: Awesome, looks great 😁 Are there, by chance, any notable scratches, stains, or light damages on the case by chance that I need to be aware of? From the pictures it looks like it's really really well preserved, but I just wanna be totally sure. Sorry for the bombardment of questions, just get a little nervous. 🤦‍♂️

Seller: No stress man. Well no not that i have seen but im stripping it apart tomorrow and the can check every corner for you?

Me: That would be really great if you could do that for me 🙌🏻. However as it stands I'm feeling really positive and if there's no big issues then I'll probably send the money your way tomorrow. You Say you're in JHB, may I ask where? As I will most likely be collecting.

Seller: Im in boksburg. Look it definately doesnt have big issues but i do have cats so will double check

Me: Awesome, I'm about 40min form you so I could probably collect it as soon as you're avaliable.
In terms of case, I'm feeling positive and as soon as the check is done I can send the funds. You can even send me your bank details in the mean time just so I have it and can be swift with he payment. 👍🏻

Seller:
Ok thats not too far atleast 🤙🏻 will send banking details now bud. And yes tomorrow when we strip it apart ill send nicer pics for you
Seller: *Sends bank details*

Me: Awesome sauce. Alrighty, I shall see you tomorrow then 😁 thanks for the quick comms and patience with me.

Seller:
No stress man thats how it should be🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻

(Sunday, June 12th @13:16)
Seller: Hey man sorry the case sold with my mobo and cpu and watercooler. Guy had cash i couldnt say no sorry

*End of conversation*

TLTR: Seller put the case up on Carb, I came first to buy the case, had a full discussion about the case and whatnot with Seller. The seller then proceeded to rather sell the whole system (that was not listed on Carb) to someone off Carb and simply send me a "Sorry" note without notifying me prior to our conversations. or on the listing of the item, that the item listed is subject to being sold as a whole system even after a first buyer on Carb PM's.

I believe the seller can sell to whomever he or she wants , unethical or asslike , sometimes they just get better offers or more money from someone and go with what would be better for them and not you , in this case he wanted to sell 4 things and you were only taking one and someone took everything for cash which is a different aspect , it sucks I get it but you have to look at both sides I guess?

personally, this kind of action would warrant a neutral from me

these things should start to be made aware to other Carbies so they at least know "there is a possibility"

unfortunately in this case, as bad as it was, there actually wasn't any CONFIRMATION from the seller (according to the conversations posted) that you were indeed the one going to get the case

That is true. There's no real evidence that the case was 'reserved', however, believe that this is totally unacceptable behavior as from what I gather Carb runs on total transparency and honesty. If he had listed the whole Unit or at least said that 'if someone comes to buy the whole unit over the case, the whole unit buyer will take priority' then there is totally be no problem because he was honest about the nature of the thread. If we simply allow for users to, for lack of a better word, lie, then what is the point of Carbonite? My first and only purchase thus far was a result of trust and transparency from both parties. Now I feel like every post I look at I'll be heavily discouraged because in my mind even if I come first, check every day for a specific listing it will be futile as there's now a chance the item can instead be sold to the highest bidder. Look, I get it, times are shit and everyone needs cash but Honestly, I'm less worried about the listed Case and more so about keeping the community healthy so that I can safely recommend Carb to friends and such. I think Carb is such a great place but if this kind of occurrence is allowed to go without some kind of consequence then IMO it tarnishes the integrity of the site, however, I still would like to hear more thoughts on this. Thank to those who have responded.

partially agree, but why did seller send banking details if he didn't intend to sell ?

Think if you put yourself in sellers shoes you might understand as it was now easier for him to sell all the items at once and was less work. No need to strip case and risk scratching it and you then deciding not to take it. But I get your side too as you where 50/50 if all was removed well anf no more damage you would have taken it, but no confirmation. Think if you had already paid the guy it would have been a different story. - bad deal for sure, but this one only natural I would say.

I have to agree with this. You aren’t out any money and you never had to travel a distance to go get it, only for it not to be available.

I would tell the seller to rather stick to one buyer at a time and let other people know that there’re other buyers in the queue, but if he really needed the cash, I’d understand.

I'm closing this, this in my opinion is not a bad deal

Our rules state:
You may give a neutral/negative rating because the other party called off the deal, didn't pitch up or sold the item to someone else once you've reached an agreement and they did not reasonably communicate a decent reason for the change of circumstances. There must be proof of the communication or lack thereof

The guy gave you a reason, in my opinion is was reasonable enough. I'd rather sell a whole pc than separately especially if the pc has not been taken apart yet.
