So I purchased replacement pads for my AKGs over a month ago, and it finally arrived yesterday!

I have transformed this headset into the most comfortable thing I have ever worn! Have had them on all day, and I don't think I am too keen to take them off. Memory foam ftw.

These are the ones I got: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076SGPZ2D/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Some pics of the plush, comfy headphones. LOOK AT IT! You want to wear them, don't you? Soooo comfy!

Velour is where it's at.
I 100% agree with you on that, these headphones just lose too much low end with velour pads. Very neutral and bass shy phones already, don't want to make it worse.

I am also using them in a setting where noise isolation is a must, so no openback goodness at the office for me sadly.

@dash09,
Honestly, the quality surpassed my expectation. It is soft and plush, and the pleather feels more resilient than I expected. Only time will tell, so far it seems they deserve their high ratings on Amazon. I cannot comment on the Wicked Cushions, but I read great things from them as well.

Open backed headphones need velour pads, you throw away too much soundstage when you go velour on them and the sound becomes less 'directed'. Some headphones are fine with that though. With closed back, majority of them suffer loss of lows with velour pads.

Here's a sheepskin brainwavz set on my closed game zero's: (again, suuuuuper comfortable!)
