Hello Cabies.

Need some help on the switch problem I am having.

So I had a chance to get a hands on the Unifi 24 port poe switch, and purchased. (Switch 24 PoE (250W))
Now, this is freshly unplugged from the server rack.

Now the problem, previous owner did not forget the device, so I had to do the hard reset -> worked, static white ring appears.
However from this moment, I am not able to connect to any of the LAN port, 0 out of 24 ports works, tried on SFP ports, still no activities. Not even a one blinking light, it is dark...

I checked google, and common suggestion was to get to console page, so ordered freaking console cable now...
Also some says unifi switch will only activate the lan ports if adopted, but ffs without initialising the port, how do I even try to adopt?? xD

So now while I am waiting for the cable, I want to try more debugging, but since I cannot even connect at all, cant do any..

Anyone experienced such thing? what can I do further? waiting for console cable is only way??

Thanks in advance to everyone.

As far as I can remember, there is a default reset and a hard reset. Hold the reset button until the indicator goes off, on and off again. Failing that, the issue could be a firmware one. Try using wireshark on one of the ports to identify the IP then use putty to ssh into it and reset from there. Can't remember the commands but should be easy to find on the forums.

Thanks bud.

But the main problem is, none of the port works (did not try the console port), so cannot actually assign any IP,,,
You mean use the putty to connect to the COM port when I get the cable?

Well, that depends. Is there no traffic on the porta or just no IP? The switch will have a pre-defined IP if reset to default (usually 192.168.1.1). If there's no traffic however and even a hard reset doesn't work then yes, you can putty over a RS232 connection too. If the firmware is buggered though, the techs at Scoop have the necessary tools to flash a new rom onto the switch- for a fee.

Yes, no traffic at all, not even detected...
Will try the console, otherwise yeah might need to reach out for help to Scoop.
Thanks bud

Sooo,,, got the console cable and connected through the putty.
It looks like it is crashing due to multiple reasons, no idea wth is happening but it keeps force-restarting, but restarting actually fails and get stuck...
Seems there are few people online having same error code as mine, but none of those have solution.

I have contacted the seller, and they directed me to their technician who is going to "have a look" for me,, since they and I have a proof it was working previously, I guess this brick is on me 😟

Connected as in a working ssh connection - Is there a console prompt?

Not ssh, but serial connection to console port.
It outputs quite a lot of errors, and it ends up to this:

incorrect device type in spi0=spi1.0

umount: can't remount rootfs read-only
The system is going down NOW!
Sent SIGTERM to all processes
