I'm at a total loss here, and would love to get some input from Carb staff.

I have received a warning from a specific moderator regarding a thread I started yesterday. The warning is based on the fact that this moderator feels that selling plots generated while farming Chia would require a reseller sub, as this is in their opinion a 'business related sale'. This is supposedly the decision which was reached after discussing with 'admins and staff'.

Riddle me this: If I had an FNB account, whereby I could generate Ebucks, I would be allowed to sell this without a reseller subscription. Or, at least, I assume so based on the number of Ebucks sale threads on Carb. I can also sell PayPal USD, BTC (or crypto in general) and vouchers...all without a reseller sub. This means, I could be a full-time streamer who accepts donations via PayPal, cashing that out to ZAR via Carbonite without a reseller sub... But the Chia plots which I have incurred costs to create (hardware costs) and that I wish to sell, as I no longer believe in the project, would require a reseller sub? Eh?

What seems to be creating some confusion is that these plots were generated and currently reside on an Xneelo server. One which I have already submitted cancellation for, and offered to provide proof of the plots existing there as well as the cancellation (I.e. proving that this is a once-off sale of my own digital assets). Does the fact that this is on a server automatically suggest that this is a business? Do people no longer have personal servers?

If this is policy, then it should apply to anyone attempting to sell digital assets. Honestly, not trying to throw shade at anyone currently dealing in the virtual currency section. I don't think anyone there is doing anything wrong. I don't think I am doing anything wrong either by attempting to sell unused Chia plots. It could be of use to someone, so why not try to recover some costs. I'm also leaving the specific moderator anonymous as I do not believe in publicly naming any parties involved in a dispute, unless absolutely required.

If Carb staff isn't comfortable with Chia plots being sold here (which would also not make sense, IMO) then that's fine. Whether I agree with it or not, I have said that I won't re-list them. But being slapped with the 'Reseller Sub Required' warning is not right, nor fair.

Side note, but if a mod simply took a minute to send a DM asking 'hey listen what's the deal with this, it seems to be a problem because X, Y and Z', before going ahead and just removing threads and slapping with warnings would've gone a long way.

tl;dr

Warning will be removed.
Thread will be removed.

Count yourself lucky I don't remove you :)

End of story.
