So I know there was a guy trying to help Carb members get these items at dealer rates and then got into some shit.
I will try and help by keeping the margins quite slim (so that it helps you guys, doesn't get me into shit and try to make some spare change)

This is a sale until my sub expires and then I will decide from there if it's worth it or not.

Please note that everything can be ordered from my site directly - ideally I would prefer bank transfer (EFT) over Payfast due to the fees associated.

The shipping rate is jut a test for now as I do not know what they charge, as they have removed the price due to the lock down.
I can arrange shipping at that price or alternatively use the code owncourier at checkout and you can arrange your own shipping (preferable).

Due to the lock down no orders can be processed right now, if you do decide to place an order please expect it to only be available after this period.

I would recommend the access points to increase the WiFi range. The type of AP will depend on the distance and what's in between (solid walls etc) and lastly your budget.

Is the house single or double story, what are you currently using?

Well it will become a double storey, hopefully in this year so i have to plan for that eventuality. Whats the ideal setup then we an take it from there?

from there I have my UniFi AP's plugged in.

1 x UniFi Cloud Key Gen 1 (plugged into switch as the controller)
1 x AC - LR covers my downstairs living area (excl guest bedroom and Cinema room)
1 x AC - LR covers the top floor (excl granny flat)
1 x AC Lite - Guest Bedroom
1 x AC Lite - Granny Flat
1 x AC Lite - Cinema Room

Most of my fixed devices are hard wired with CAT 6 going into the switch.

A bit overkill but, not a day of issues - Home is fully covered in wireless AC

I'm not sure how your house is laid out but this will give you a general idea of what is needed

What features are you looking exactly?

With regards to the USG (Security Gateway) it can be used as a modem / router as well (My Openserve Fibre PPOE dials out via that and used as my only router)
The USG also does DPI and threat management if you want it to. If you want everything managable under 1 interface this is the way to go as it uses the same controller as your APs unlike the EdgeRouter X (which is a web portal)

You also get nice stats like below:

The EdgeRouter X is more powerful for the back end stuff but, I doubt you'll make use of in a home environment (assuming here as you didn't mention the use case).

What are your reasons for hosting the controller on a VPS if I may ask? A Cloud Key will give you the same functionality if remote access is the main thing you're after.
