Hi all,
This was exposed a few weeks-months ago, but I thought I'd post this so everyone can be aware and boycott the crappy company that Ubiquiti has become. It's only recently in the last few weeks become apparent that this was a cover up actually, Ubiquiti downplayed the whole thing to not affect their stock price.
This wouldn't have been such a big deal, but some genius thought it would be a good idea to take their great prosumer gear and link everything to their damn cloud/website. I'm not a Ubiquiti expert but that's what I understand and find it a pity since they had a niche market between home and enterprise gear. It seems a firmware upgrade now forces users to do tie kit to an online account. I hate that concept, it's effectively introducing huge risk from data leaks or vulnerabilities. Here are some vids.
