Hi all - need some technical advise as I've exhausted every option I know of.

What I need to happen: PC gracefully shut down when loadshedding starts (UPS), then turn on when mains come back 2 hours later.

My Setup:

Graceful shutdown works fine - UPS is connected with USB cable to the Unraid PC, NUT sees the power loss and shuts down the OS.
Ideally I would like the UPS to then also be shut down after the PC is off (setting on NUT) as to not have a humming noise for no reason.
When power restores, the UPS does NOT turn it self back on - PROBLEM #1
When I manually powercycle the UPS the PC does NOT turn it self back on - PROBLEM #2

In the BIOS I have set Turn ON after Power Loss Restore, which WORKS if the power is cut abruptly, but not after graceful shutdown.

A hack I am considering if all else fails (please point me in the right direction to setup if its plausible):
Send a WOL command from a Mikrotik every x minutes, which means the WOL won't occur when power is cut as the Mikrotik won't be on the UPS. (Can possibly use the 2nd ethernet port on the motherboard?)

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! Running a bunch of home automation and dev stuff on docker which is a pain to manually restart after 3x loadshedding stints in a day.

I think you will need to look into using a RasPi or ESP32/866/Arduino or some other device to control a relay to essentially "Push a button"
Its not too complicated but you will need to attach wires to the PC power switch in parallel to turn on the PC and also connect to the UPS power switch depending on the type of switch.

Its doable but could get a little complicated... Just my 2 cents....

What happens to pc if you keep the power button pressed in? Is there a option not to switch off after 4secs?

Everything that you want to be done can be done with relays and pulse stretcher / timer boards.
