Look at what else you can get for around the same price.

Even normal mode sounds 10x better than the GR Yaris, let alone N mode that is just amazing.

What do you expect? Most 3 cylinders sound awful.

Also I should point out that sometimes rally seats DO see some poo coming out.

I used to really like VW.. they were really well built inside, premium materials - and the designs were nice - albeit their engines were just ... boring.

That was until the 7th gen polo and 8th gen golf came out ...

They have just missed the mark so much.... makes me sad.

We can certainly agree on this. The Mk8 GTI is an enormous disappointment. How does VW, the undisputed king of 'how to put a car interior together properly', forget to illuminate the bloody air-con and volume controls!? The car itself is crap, too.

The one you want is the GTI Clubsport which is also the one you can't get in South Africa.

Toyota hasn't really made that many exciting cars in the last few years. It's basically Uber cars and Bakkies, and more recently Gazoo limited everything. Toyota's best cars were from the 80s and 90s .

I have a 1997 Corolla RSi. It was my mom's car. 8000RPM redline! Still goes like a stabbed rat.

Shot! The RSi weighs just over a tonne. The RXi, I think, is an 50kg heavier. No safety features to speak of but they're leaker little go-carts.

Fun fact/boring car story: the 5-speed RSis and RXis (1997 to 1999) could sprint to 100 in under 8 seconds when new - they used only first and second gear. The later 6-speed RSis and RXis (2000 to 2002) were slower to 100, courtesy of needing to use third gear to get there.

If you like to go to the track, you can add the Ariel Atom to that. I have never been in anything that changes direction like that.

Also, don't those Mountune RS's go over 500bhp?

Yes 520hp. The thing i like about the Focus more than the Golf or Merc A class cars, Manual trans. If only Opel were still true German and not French with their puny peugeot/citroen sewing machine engines, an OPC would be great. Love cars with character. Toyota is going the right way and vw just the other way. So boring to look at and the engines sound so mundane.
