Item Wanted:
Tippmann milsim type rifle with both hopper fed and magazine fed configs with Picatinny rails (something like the TMC or Sierra One, etc), hopper, hpc/co2 canister - .68 cal
Tippmann pistol, 0.68 cal
Bonus if it has some self defence (kinetic) and practise balls included, extra bonus if it has some pepper balls included. (I am not looking for a crazy expensive pistol. Something in the R2k range would be great).

Packaging Essential: Nope
Desired Age: Perfect working condition. Preferably no to little scratches, etc.
Location: Johannesburg or surrounding areas
Willing to accept a shipped item: Not really
Ballpark/Budget Amount: R5k-R10k, depending on what you have and condition.

I'm pretty new to the paintball game, and this will be used for self defense. As such, I may not know everything there is to know about what components I need. I'd appreciate the help if you care to share.

FYI
--------

I think the self defence versions are tuned (in the factory) to fire at much higher velocities, maybe 500+ FPS? I think the ones used in paintball are a maximum of 300 fps

Nah, they can be tweaked. Most are pressure regulated so you just up the pressure to up velocity. The simpler blowback ones you up spring tension to increase the time the valve is open and it ups the velocity. Most self defence guns using .68cal are just paintball markers with an orange paint job and an excessive price. :ROFLMAO:

Where would I buy if I wanted to buy new? I found two places so far, but none responds to phone calls, so I don't know if they are still operating.
and guns&knives (I think that's the name).
Takealot also sells a few, but not a wide variety, and they seem expensive.

Any ideas where I can buy? If there are resellers on here, I'm happy to also support them.

with regards to Tippman pistols, two shops locally have had almost 50% return on newer models of the tpx, apparently quality control isnt what it used to be since moving to china. umarex stock is out everywhere, think they said end august, i picked up an hdp 50 by luck, and im suitably impressed. also have a spyder mrx using mag and hopper, pepper in mag and for spray and pray with a hopper full of solids (for the wife )

Thanks guys. I just phoned blades and triggers today to ask about the stock on the tippmann tmc. I wasn't too impressed with the brevity of the guy on the other end. As if I was interrupting him by asking if I can buy a R7k combo from him.

Either way, they don't have stock, and it seems they'll only have in about two months' time.

So, until then, I'm open for second hand options. Let me know if you have something.

I'm checking with guys I know as to who has at the moment. Is your focus the TiPX and TMC range or is hopper fed also on the list for you?

Thanks guys. I just heard back from Futurama (Futurama.co.za - Optics, Outdoor, Hobby, Electronics and more. | Buy online - Futurama.co.za). They're the only ones who responded, from the three stores I contacted (other than triggers and blades who was just not someone I'd prefer to support after the phone call I had with them).

So, I've decided to support futurama. They have good prices too, and they responded at length with options and suggestions.

@Firestar ,curious to know, what setup did you eventually settle on from Futurama?

I went for these:

And some odds and ends. I ended up spending quite a bit more than I wanted to, but I'm super happy. They delivered all but one component, which will be in stock end of the month. Really happy with the service too, and the prices seem reasonable.
