I wish. I'm too stupid for all the binary and hex conversions and encrypting/decrypting. But I like pretending I can so I always follow the threads and pipe up when there's something I can see.

You see. He intended to post this as the start to the riddle.

His points total is 1260. This is so obviously a reference to the year 1260 which started on a Thursday just like the day he posted the message.
Its clear that the start is of refference here so If you take the day he joined (started) you will see the moon phase on that day was completely blacked out as a new moon or Dark side moon.
Dark side of the moon is a reference to pink Floyd's success hit.
On that album the song that plays 11min12sec in (time he posted the message) the song "Time" is playing halfway.
