Have you printed these? Do they work ok?

I'm guessing Carb will be your best option to find a Gen8 - I dont think any supplier would be able to supply one new, they have been replaced with the newer Gen 10'sWhere is the cheapest place to pick up the Gen8 right now?
Also do you still need a hack or additional hardware to use the Optical Drive slot for a drive?

You only need to supply power to the drive. The FDD power connector wont allow you easy plug and play access for a regular drive.
Was it ECC memory?I realised right after posting that I actually meant the Gen10.
But since then I found a bargain for another 4GB for my N36L so will just stick to that route for now.
Was it ECC memory?

Oh, I see.Nope when I upgraded it to 4GB the first time I opted to go non-ECC.
So just more of the same to 8gb.

Oh, I see.
I'm not sure on whether to do this or not.
I planned on running just a print server and Plex server. Which ECC ram might be overkill for.
However I also intend to do a file server and still need to setup RAID on the 3 x 1TB.

That's a great heads up for when I consider getting one. I have a Gen 7 N54LJust a heads up, you can't use non ECC memory in the gen 8 microservers.
I just wish it as easier to find ECC RAM
That memory does seem legit. It's a nightmare trying to get memory that works with these machines. Well, memory that isn't R1000 for 4gbs :/
I've toyed with the idea of taking a gamble on this memory
Yeah, definitely cheaper to trade up....if you can find one that is [emoji14]

so Gen 8 has iLO?

Seems it depends on the processor being used. Some people can post with non-ECC.
Really? I couldn't get it to boot with the celeron CPU and non-ecc memory.
@The_Lerminator Could you open her up and show us the insides? I would really like to see how you routed the watercooling and that 2.5" Bracket!
And how did you mount the evercool CPU fan? I'm pretty certain the stock 35W cooler does not conform to the standard mounting holes.
Well done on those mods!
Great modifications dude!My Gen8's
