The Game To End PUBG. Finally!

It says available in less than an hour now

But what exactly is so special about it?

You wouldn't understand without having played it.

But off the top of my head:

- Minimal bugs.
- Even when playing on servers in Taiwan and Hong Kong the game's networking felt better than PUBG on European servers.
- Better map design than PUBG.
- Better looking than PUBG.
- Better performance than PUBG.
- Weapon attachments are automatically equipped when picked up.
- You can have two scopes on some weapons and switch them on the fly.
- Bandages can heal you to full health unlike PUBG.
- Nicer weapons than what PUBG has.
- Better character customization than PUBG.

- And the punchline...... IT'S FREE :p

I saw videos of people snowboarding though... Lets see how it plays out. Hopefully less rng than it looked like. It does look like more fun than PUBG, but I don't think it will be able to enter the competitive arena with the way it looks on YT.

Could be wrong! Lets see.

Well technically you can't exactly classify PUBG as competitive in South Africa due to the bad latency. For it to be considered competitive the playing field should be even.

Time to kill in Ring of Elysium is pretty much the same as in PUBG BTW.

Forgot to mention two of the changes they made since the first iteration of the game.

- No more dropping. You choose a spawn point on the map which shows you where other players spawn too.
- Everyone deploys with a pistol to even the playing field.

Woohoo , for the notification went live at 10pm they just delayed it an hour... Whoop whoop, and yeah it was always just gonna be NA servers for now. We lucky EU isn't even allowed to dl. And they just working on their EU servers with legislations and such.

Also if the founders pack was better I would do it, but it's pretty bad xD

You just spawn instantly at a spot you pick with a pistol, I don't like that.

Really liked the feel of the game. And the spawn etc is good, I like that everyone at least has a gun to start with.

Did pick up a bit of lag here and there, players teleporting a bit.

Only played an hour but tonight I am going looooong.

This has potential to be a good alternative to PUBG.

I honestly can't believe how smooth this was. I was super critical after watching some YouTube videos, and thought snowboarding was a dumb gimmick along with the other shite.

But honestly this game was awesome. The actual FPS engagements were incredibly smooth considering I probably had a ping of 250+, not to mention interactions with doors, loot etc was instant. A lot of the games logic must be client side (uh oh, opens it up to cheating), as I just don't see how it is possible to have it that smooth otherwise.

But still even the one on one shoot outs, as long as I got the jump on my opponent I won the fight. I didn't see a single person teleport.

I have lagged harder on CSGO ZA servers.

In the game I played last night I didn’t get the drop on my opponents and I won the gunfights anyway :p

Whether it’s server side or client side, people can still cheat. Look at PUBG. It’s full of cheaters

Yes but you are a lot more vulnerable to cheaters with a predominantly client side model. You can't escape the cheaters but you can make it hard for them.

Anyway, super impressed with what they delivered. I noticed it was running some background anti cheat client which is good I suppose. As long as it isn't mining bitcoin for the Chinese govt.

I enjoy the newspaper ending, and the announcer they added for the helicopter..
Still its fun self, and NA server definitely helps. Hopefully the devs pay attention to the initial problems and it should be golden.

Best game has ice sculpture, of adorable creatures.

I must say the game is butter smooth for an early access title. Very well optimized. I never got one hitch or stutter.
