Telkom is making me feel uncomfortable.

In the exact same situation.
Moved from CT to PE. Cancelled the line back then already as I'd be moving to fibre.
Then 5 months ago, i started being billed again for the line and now struggling since then to get this resolved, infuriating to say the least.
I got an SMS a few weeks ago to inform me that they have successfully restored my ADSL service. I am on Fibre. With MWeb.

Telkom owed us R2300 which they had charged us even after cancelling our account and honestly we gave up hope. When I told my wife I wanted a new gaming chair, she told me to get a refund from Telkom and use that money for whatever I want.
I fought for 6 months and eventually after numerous phone calls, ICASI escalations they finally refunded the money and I got a new chair.

I’m expecting a fight when I cancel my landline and phone contract with them.

Thankfully, my friend and brother are both litigation lawyers and I can have them make a friendly phone call to sort things out.

Usually, just giving them the contact details of my mate is enough to put most situations to bed.

Hmmm, who do I give those details to? Or I just need a number for someone important to harass. Been harassing call agents for 2 months and I've moved out and still haven't had my line moved.

When you call into their helpdesk, they have a notes section for meta data. Give them your lawyers contact details and tell them to call him.

They never do. They just call their supervisor and close the issue.

I had Telkom adsl, canned it last year october, as fibre was installed and i went through a different service provider.
I received an sms message from some form of a debt collection agency stating i owe over R1200 on telkom fees, which eventually called me...
I informed them, I followed the telkom process of cancelling online, i was harassed for approx 2 months... sent them the screenshot of my cancellation as well as the reference number issued to me upon my cancellation of service.. haven't heard from them again as yet...

Don't deal with telkom... my brother had the same issues....

Thanks, I'll give it a try. I'm about all out of ideas at this point.

I requested online for my line to be moved and heard nothing from them for 2 weeks. When I called them they said there was no order on the system. The agent then processed my request and ask me some questions to update my account. When the questions were done, He tells me it will cost R700 call out fee to move the like because it’s on the same exchange. I said cancel the order. Went into a Telkom shop and he processed the order without having to update my details other than a contact number. And no word on the R700 call out fee.
It’s now another week later and still waiting to hear from Telkom.

Those fuckers charged me R202 on a closed account for alleged non-payment (see the closed part of this sentence). I refused to pay that, so they charged me R202 for non-payment of their non-payment fee. Then the asshats reported that on my credit bureau score.
Had the exact same thing happen to me
