Sorry okes I know this debate has been going on for years, but i want some genuine input here,

I have been bitten by the CUD and I really want to move to a m-ATX form factor, so i need some advice here, I want to spend around 20K for a new rig, my hearts pretty set on the 1660 Ti because of the small form factor, but thats as far as i got, this rig will be my primary gaming rig and is what i want to travel with, so please gooi some advice my way in terms of what I should be looking at.

Die ding moet nie elke game stukkend bliksem nie, maar ek wil ook nie sukkel nie, moet n lekker oukie wees wat als kan gooi.

Ryzen 5 2600/3600 best bang for your buck.

Honestly, if it's purely for gaming and cash isn't an issue, Intel wins.
Gaming with other stuff, rendering/editing AMD wins.
On a budget, AMD wins again once again.

Pure gaming performance though, Intel just destroys, it's the sad truth unfortunately.

Or do you mean Intel vs AMD?

the 1660ti confused me =D

Well bud, my friend is rocking a 1080ti in his small form factor, so the 1660ti shouldnt really be considered on that factor.

Go where your wallet takes you. The 20% you spend more will not see 20% more performance gain. Both teams are quite comparable these days

Team Red

CPU: R5 3600
Mobo: B450 ITX board
RAM: Corsair 3600Mhz.
PSU: SFX PSU
Case: Phanteks Enthoo Evolv Shift

you will take this thing anywhere

Are you referring to this: Red vs. Blue - Wikipedia

Otherwise if you are referring to AMD vs Intel (blue) then why the mention of the gfx card, Nvidia is Green?

If I had R20k for a build I will go with one of these

Game

9700 non K or K

Work and Game

Ryzen 7 3700x

He has already decided to get the 1660Ti. He wants us to tell him whether to get AMD or Intel for the CPU to pair with it.

+1 for 3600X/B450 motherboard/fast-ish RAM (around 3200MHz) combo. That is really the sweet spot right now.

If you like stable frame times with maximum compatibility for majority of games, low power draw, low temps, low noise and excellent drivers.... Stay away from team Red.

You sure you want to travel with a matx case? I've only used matx for the past 5 years or so, with the right case its definitely more compact than atx but I wouldn't consider it portable.
What case do you have in mind? Matx is basically the middle ground for builds, you wouldn't really need small form factor components. The 280x which I have is pretty small but fits a full size gpu and psu. On the other hand you can get matx cases that are the size of atx.

You should consider itx if you want to move around

Sorry boys, this got big fast, yes i meant Intel vs AMD,

Also I miss-spoke i meant m-ITX

Thermaltake Core V1 mini-ITX Mini-Tower Computer Case, Black
