The Royce's and Bentley's of knives
I wouldn't say "Rolls Royce". But yeah, these are great. These are some of the best working knives you can find. These dare really, really good knives. If you want a knife that'll last your lifetime, this is it.

For interest sake, what would you term as the ‘Rolls Royce’ of knives? Besides going down the custom road ofc

Rolls Royce is "luxury", not "working". When you get to luxury, you have to start using luxury materials. Think titanium liners, G10 scales, specialized steels, possibly even Damascus. Think Chris Reeve, Spartan Blades or even our local offerings from HARM Edged Tools (ARMKO knives).

When it comes to ZT and Benchmade, you're talking about long-lasting, quality working knives. A knife you will look after, but you won't feel sorry for to whip out to cut a seat belt in an accident. A knife you'll use to defend yourself. To cut open your TAKEALOT package at the office. A knife you're definitely going to slip into your pocket to carry every day, as that's what it was designed for.

A R10k Chris Reeve knife with premium materials will probably end up lying in the safe not being used, cleaned every now and again and showed off to your friends, maybe used to cut your favourite cut of biltong in front of the fireplace on special occasions, but that's it. These knives are not it. They're hardcore, REAL working knives, but when it comes to working knives, these are some of the best your money can buy. When it comes to folders, you won't easily get much better than this.

@Caliph yes I was going to say the same thing. I don’t have a profile on Gunsite and Gumtree bans selling of weapons so my hopes a dreams are pinned on Carbonite!

chris reeves sebenza classic. Rated as the best folding knife of all time, and with good reason. Material wise and mathematically almost a perfect knife also has the smoothest folding mechanism out.

at the moment, for me, it's Fallkniven. i'm lusting after the NL1 though I have no reason for buying it.

(Rolls Royce from a production-knife point of view - customs are a different thing, and quality varies)

edit: if you really want to go down the rabbit hole, look up Oda Kuzan, or Rockstead
